Cyberheist City: Full Review

Cyberheist City is a 243 ways to win slot from Pragmatic Play with tumbling reels, wild multipliers, and a free spins round where those multipliers never reset. It looks good, plays fast, and carries a 5,000x max win at a very high volatility rating. We deposited real money, played 100 spins, bought the bonus twice, and came away with a clear picture of how this game actually performs when your own bankroll is on the line.

Cyberheist City RTP and key numbers

Before anything else, check which RTP version your casino runs. Cyberheist City ships in three configurations:

  • 96.50% (highest, the version you want)
  • 95.51%
  • 94.52%

The gap between top and bottom is nearly two full percentage points. Over a long session that difference compounds into real money. Our volatility guide explains why this matters, but the short version is: always check the game info screen before depositing. If your casino runs the 94.52% version, the same session will cost you measurably more over time.

The max win sits at 5,000x your stake. For a very high volatility slot, that ceiling is on the lower side. Comparable Pragmatic titles like Gates of Olympus offer 5,000x as well, but newer releases in the same bracket have pushed to 10,000x or higher. It is not a dealbreaker, but it does cap what the bonus round can realistically deliver even when everything connects.

How the base game works

The game uses a 5x3 grid with 243 ways to win, meaning you do not need symbols to land on specific paylines. Matching symbols on adjacent reels from left to right count as wins regardless of row position.

Every win triggers the tumble mechanic. Winning symbols disappear and new ones drop in from above, giving you another chance at a payout without spending again. If the new arrangement wins, it tumbles again. This continues until no new wins form.

Wild symbols land on reels two through five and substitute for everything except the scatter. Each wild carries a random multiplier between 2x and 100x. When a wild contributes to a winning combination, its multiplier applies to the payout. During the base game, this multiplier resets after each spin sequence, which means you need everything to line up on the same tumble chain for it to matter.

The lower paying symbols are standard card suits (clubs, diamonds, hearts, spades), paying between 0.32x and 0.48x for a five of a kind. Five character symbols sit higher on the paytable: the hacker, the driver, the enforcer, a woman holding a gold weapon, and the boss in a hat. These pay between 0.48x and 3x for a full line.

In practice, the base game runs cold. Long stretches of nothing, occasional small tumble chains, and the rare wild multiplier that lands but connects with a low paying symbol. This is by design. Pragmatic has built the math so that real returns live behind the feature, not in front of it.

Free spins bonus round

Three or more scatter symbols trigger the free spins round. Three scatters give you 10 spins, four give 15, and five give 20.

The critical difference inside the bonus is that wild multipliers no longer reset between spins. Every wild that lands adds its multiplier to a running total that stays active for the rest of the round. A 2x wild on spin one followed by a 5x on spin three and a 12x on spin eight means your later wins are hitting against a stacked multiplier that keeps climbing.

Cyberheist City bonus trigger
Cyberheist City bonus trigger

This is the entire game. The non-resetting multiplier during free spins is what makes or breaks the session. When the round stacks enough wilds early, the back half of the bonus can produce the kind of hits that justify the very high volatility label. When it does not, you burn through 10 spins watching the multiplier crawl and the total barely move.

The bonus buy lets you skip the base game entirely. Two options are available: 100x stake for a standard trigger or 500x stake for an enhanced entry. At a 1 dollar bet, that is 100 or 500 dollars for a single bonus round on a slot capped at 5,000x. The math on that buy price is steep relative to the ceiling, and our session reflected it.

Our real money test session

We deposited 100 dollars and played at 1 dollar per spin. Here is what happened across 100 base game spins and two bonus buys.

Natural triggers1 (around spin 51)

The base game was mostly dead. Around 20 spins would pass without anything worth noting. The one natural trigger came after roughly 51 spins and delivered a decent return, but nothing dramatic. Both bonus buys cost 80 dollars each and neither recovered its own purchase price.

The biggest single win of the session was 137x, which came from inside a bonus round. Without that hit, the numbers would look significantly worse.

Kim's take: "More dead than steady. One of those sessions where 20 spins go by and you wonder what happened. The bonus is where the game tries to pay, but it was rough for me."

What other reviews get wrong about Cyberheist City

A lot of reviews describe the tumble and multiplier mechanics like they fire constantly, painting a picture of cascading wins and climbing multipliers on every other spin. In a real session, you still need the right symbols in the right positions, and a near miss is still a miss. The wild multipliers are random and the scatter triggers are infrequent. The game does not play the way the feature descriptions read.

Several reviews also compare this to Cyber Heist (the 2023 Pragmatic release). Despite the similar name, the two games share nothing mechanically. Different grid, different features, different math model. If you played and liked Cyber Heist, that tells you nothing about whether you will enjoy this one.

Who should play Cyberheist City

Cyberheist City has a stronger visual identity than a lot of Pragmatic titles in this bracket. The neon cyberpunk theme with palm trees, sports cars, and a crypto bank target is distinct enough that you remember it after the session. The soundtrack and animations land better than average for a slot at this price point.

But the gameplay underwhelmed. The base game ran cold, the bonus buy price felt steep for a 5,000x ceiling, and neither purchased round returned what it cost. For players specifically looking for a cyberpunk themed very high volatility slot with tumble mechanics, it fills that niche. For everyone else shopping the Pragmatic catalogue for high volatility action, slots like Sweet Bonanza, Gates of Olympus, or the newer Sugar Rush Super Scatter offer either better max win potential or more engaging base game mechanics at similar volatility levels.
