2 Wild 2 Die

The 2 Wild 2 Die slot is Hacksaw Gaming's Western from January 2024, played on a 5x4 grid with 14 lines. Silver and Golden Revolvers land loaded with up to six bullets and shoot Wilds and Wild Multipliers of up to 200x onto the grid. Its bonuses are a lives-based shootout at Wanted Posters and free spins with sticky multipliers, each also sold as a Best of version, under a 15,000x cap. We tested the demo for 100 base spins, both FeatureSpins modes and all four buys.

What is the 2 Wild 2 Die slot about?

The reels sit inside a battered wooden crate with the title across the top plank, on a dusty frontier street. The symbols are playing cards with skull suits, a steer skull, a cowboy hat, a revolver and two outlaw portraits: a dark-haired woman and a masked bandit in a hat.

The intro is styled as a front page of the Hacksaw Gazette, and Most Wanted! moves you into a jailhouse.

The rules draw 14 fixed paylines, though some listings say 15 lines or 1,024 ways, and a win needs three of a kind or more starting on reel 1.

At a $1 bet, the J, Q, K and A cards pay $0.20 for three and $3 for five. The skull, the hat and the pistol pay $1 to $10, and the two outlaws $2 to $15. The WILD sign substitutes for every paytable symbol and pays $15 for five.

The review sites put the hit rate at about 25%; our base game won on 34 of 100 spins.

Silver and Golden Revolvers

Revolvers land with 1 to 6 bullets and fire each one at a random square. A Silver Revolver's first hit on a square turns it Wild; a second hit on the same square adds a random multiplier and makes it a Wild Multiplier. A Golden Revolver makes a Wild Multiplier with its first hit.

Multipliers run 2x to 10x in steps of one, then 15x, 20x, 25x, 50x, 100x and 200x, and several in the same win are added together.

In the base game and Shootin' Wild!, Golden Revolvers fire first. A Revolver that has emptied its chambers becomes a Wild itself.

Most Wanted!

Three FS scatters at once start a lives round. Only Revolvers, Reload symbols and blanks land, and six Wanted Posters hang above the grid. Each poster either adds a value (2x to 10x, then 15x, 20x, 25x, 30x, 40x, 50x, 75x, 100x, 150x, 200x, 250x or 500x) or multiplies by x2, x3, x4, x5, x10 or x20.

Every bullet that hits a poster adds or multiplies that value into its Revolver. A Silver Revolver then locks its total in place for the rest of the round. A Golden Revolver adds its total to every locked Silver and Reload value and leaves next spin; in this round Goldens fire last. A Reload collects the locked Silvers on its reel and refills them with 1 to 6 bullets.

The posters change after all Revolvers have fired. You get 3 lives, refilled by any Revolver or Reload, and a grid full of spent Revolvers ends the round early. At the end, all locked values are added up and paid.

Shootin' Wild!

Four scatters at once give 10 free spins with the base-game Revolvers, and every Wild Multiplier sticks where it lands until the round ends. Two FS symbols at once add 2 spins, and three add 4.

Best of Most Wanted! and Best of Shootin' Wild!

When a Best of Bonus scatter lands with three or four FS symbols, the matching round plays three times in full, a scoreboard keeps each result, and only the best is paid. The buy cards put it as three rounds for the price of two. There is no hidden fifth round; all four bonuses can be bought.

Our 2 Wild 2 Die demo test

We ran one session of Hacksaw Gaming's official demo in US dollars, starting from the $5,000 demo balance, and checked every round against the game server's log. It closed at $4,581.60, matching the screen, after $2,140.00 staked and $1,721.60 returned.

The 100 base spins at $1 brought 34 wins worth $37.80, 20 of them under $1, and no bonus. The best was the $10.00 above on spin 58: a Revolver shot two Wilds and a 5x Wild Multiplier, and a five-pistol line ran through the Wilds, although the multiplier sat off the line. Next came $3.40 twice and $3.00, and the longest dry run was 9 spins.

BonusHunt at $5 a spin brought $1.00 and $0.20 in ten spins and no bonus.

Revolver FeatureSpins at $100 landed three or four Revolvers every time, and every spin paid, from $0.20 to $189.00. Only that $189.00 spin beat the price, and the mode returned $442.40 from $1,000.00.

The $130 Most Wanted! buy lasted 7 spins. One Silver Revolver landed with four bullets and hit posters of 4X, 8X, 3X and 15X to lock at 30X. A Reload later gave it one more bullet, which hit a 6X poster, and the round paid $36.00. The x2 poster was never hit.

The $200 Shootin' Wild! buy was the star. Its sticky multipliers built up spin by spin, and the last four spins paid $103.00, $145.20, $20.80 and $183.00, for $570.80 in all.

The $260 Best of Most Wanted! played three Most Wanted! rounds of 552x, 72x and 77x the bet. The first, with locked Revolvers up to 324X and an 81X Reload, was the one paid: $552.00.

The $400 Best of Shootin' Wild! was the opposite. Its three rounds paid $28.80, $81.40 and $67.60, so the best of them, $81.40, came back on a $400 price.

The rules screen showed 96.25%. We never saw a natural bonus, a Golden Revolver we could pick out on screen or extra spins in Shootin' Wild!, and 100 spins cannot measure the RTP or the volatility.

Is 2 Wild 2 Die worth trying?

Our view: the Revolver is a great base-game device. Every one that lands is a little event, bullets flying, Wilds appearing, the chance of a double hit for a multiplier, and an empty gun turning Wild too. What it cannot do on its own is pay much, because a multiplier only counts when a winning line runs through it, as our best base spin showed.

The bonuses are where 2 Wild 2 Die earns its reputation, and they suit different players.

Shootin' Wild! is the cleaner of the two: sticky multipliers make every late spin worth more than the last, which is exactly how our round paid. Most Wanted! is a slower puzzle of posters, locked values and Reloads, and it lives or dies on whether bullets meet the big posters; ours missed, then the Best of version found a 552x round.

The Best of buys are a fair deal on paper, three rounds for the price of two with the best one paid, but they lift the floor more than the ceiling; our Best of Shootin' Wild! still returned only a fifth of its price.

Hacksaw rates it 5 out of 5 on its games list; the intro sign's icons were not legible in our capture. Besides the 96.25% our demo ran, the review sites list 94.15%, 92.14% and 88.25% versions, and all three quote max win odds of 1 in 6 million.

Wanted Dead or a Wild, Hacksaw's 2021 Western, uses a 5x5 grid with 15 lines, VS symbols that expand into multiplier reels and a 12,500x cap, by both games' rules. 2 Wild 2 Die keeps the outlaw mood but shoots its Wilds square by square instead.

Duel at Dawn, from November 2024, has Outlaws whose revolvers shoot Wilds onto the grid as well, with 2x to 200x reel multipliers on a 19-line, 5x5 grid and the same 15,000x cap.
