Our verdict
RIP City rests on its Wild Cat: it stretches down a reel only when that completes a win, and a WILD in its path turns into a multiplier of up to 200x that adds with others in the same win. The Maxx Bonus builds by locking a Wild Cat onto every reel it activates, and the cap is 12,500x. Without those lining up the base game pays little, and there is no hidden top round.
Who it suits
Play this if…
- You like expanding wilds with multipliers: a WILD under a stretched Wild Cat can reach 200x
- You want a bonus that builds: the Maxx Bonus keeps a Wild Cat on every reel it activates
- You like a graffiti look in black, white and neon instead of bright cartoon colours
Skip this if…
- You want a lively base game: ours paid $16.20 from 100 spins
- You want a top tier to chase: there is no hidden third bonus
- You want wild reels from the first frame: a Wild Cat only stretches when it completes a win

RIP City: Full Review
The RIP City slot is Hacksaw Gaming's cat-and-mouse game from January 2023, played on a 5x5 grid with 19 lines in a black-and-white back alley. Its Wild Cat stretches down the reel to cover a win, and a WILD in its path becomes a multiplier of up to 200x. Two free spins rounds and three FeatureSpins modes sit under a 12,500x cap. Our RIP City demo test covered 100 base spins at $1, all three modes and both buys.

What is the RIP City slot about?
The rules call it a game of cat and mouse, set in a grey alley under a R.I.P. CITY cross. Ro$, a scruffy cat with his name tagged in pink, stands on the left; Maxx, a mouse in a green cap, waits on the right. The scene is black, white and grey, with yellow symbols and neon pink and green for the two stars.
Wins pay on 19 fixed lines, three of a kind or more from the leftmost reel, and only the best win on each line counts. At a $1 bet, the card letters pay $0.20 to $0.40 for three and $5 to $10 for five. Bananas and skull candles pay $1 to $15, dice and X-eyed smileys $1.50 to $17.50, and the heart with an 8-ball $2 to $20.
There are two wilds. The green WILD and the Wild Cat both stand in for every paytable symbol, and five of either pay $25. The review sites we checked put the hit rate at about 18%; our base game won on 17 of its 100 spins.
The alley before our first spin, still at the demo's opening $2.00 bet: Ro$$ on the left, Maxx on the right. FluxPlays demo test, 19 October 2026.
RIP City bonus features
The Wild Cat
The Wild Cat is a cat's head with dollar-sign eyes. When stretching it down its reel would complete at least one win, it expands from where it landed to the bottom row, its long pink tongue marking the reach, and every square it covers is wild. If no win would follow, it stays a single wild. Each reel holds one Wild Cat at a time.
Hacksaw's game page adds the extreme case: five Wild Cats on the top row can fill the whole screen.
WILD multipliers
A Wild Cat that expands through a green WILD turns it into a multiplier on the whole Wild Cat: 2x, 3x, 4x, 5x, 6x, 7x, 8x, 9x, 10x, 15x, 20x, 25x, 50x, 100x or 200x. When one win runs through several multiplied Wild Cats, their values are added first and then applied.
Two Wild Cats FeatureSpins spin 2 at $20, settled: three Wild Cats stretched down reels 1 to 3, one carrying 4x, $244.20. FluxPlays demo test, 19 October 2026.
Ro$$ Bonus
Three FS scatters at once give 10 free spins with better odds of Wild Cats and WILDs than the base game. Three more scatters during the round add 4 spins.
Four scatters in one Ro$$ spin upgrade the round to the Maxx Bonus once that spin ends, and if fewer than 10 spins are left the count goes up to 10. The review sites we checked disagree on the timing, but the rules settle it this way.
Maxx Bonus
Four scatters at once in the base game go straight here: 10 free spins in which any reel that catches a Wild Cat is activated, and an activated reel then gets a Wild Cat on every remaining spin. Three scatters add 4 spins. The more reels light up early, the more spins each one works for.
There is no hidden fifth round; the rules and the intro describe only these two bonuses. The 12,500x cap applies in the base game and both bonuses, and reaching it ends the round.
Bonus buys and FeatureSpins
Three FeatureSpins modes, which run until you press DISABLE, and two one-off buys share the buy menu:
- BonusHunt FeatureSpins: 3x a spin, five times the chance of a bonus; 96.44% RTP, labelled High volatility
- Two Wild Cats FeatureSpins: 20x a spin, at least two Wild Cats every time; 96.34%, Very high
- Three Wild Cats FeatureSpins: 50x a spin, at least three; 96.31%, High
- Ro$$ Bonus: 110x; 96.2%, High
- Maxx Bonus: 200x; 96.41%, High
The rules list 96.34% for Two Wild Cats, where one site prints 96.36%, and the menu charged $200 for the Maxx Bonus at $1, not the 2000x one site shows. Bets run from $0.10 to $2,000 in the demo, with buys allowed above that; the review sites list $100 as the top bet.
The buy menu at a $1 bet: three FeatureSpins modes with orange ACTIVATE buttons, then the Ro$$ Bonus and Maxx Bonus. FluxPlays demo test, 19 October 2026.

Played on Hacksaw Gaming's official demo in US dollars, in one session from $5,000.00 to $5,279.10, matching the screen, with every round checked against the game server's log. BonusHunt FeatureSpins: 10 spins at $3, $0.50 back, no bonus. Two Wild Cats FeatureSpins: 10 spins at $20, $200.00 in, $492.00 back, $244.20 of it on spin 2 (three expanded Wild Cats and a 4x multiplier); two spins paid nothing. Three Wild Cats FeatureSpins: 10 spins at $50, $500.00 in, $682.60 back, every spin paid. Totals from the spin log: $1,140.00 staked, $1,419.10 returned. No natural bonus and no Ro$$-to-Maxx upgrade were seen. A sample this size cannot measure the RTP or the volatility.
Everything ran in one session of Hacksaw Gaming's official demo, in US dollars from the $5,000 starting balance, with every round checked against the game server's log. The balance ended at $5,279.10, the same figure the screen showed.
The base game was thin. The 100 spins at $1 brought 17 wins worth $16.20, the best of them $5.00 on spin 5; nothing else passed $1.90, and ten of the wins were under $1. The longest run without a win was 13 spins, no free spins triggered, and no Wild Cat expansion paid much.
BonusHunt at $3 a spin paid $0.30 and $0.20 in ten spins, $0.50 in all, and found no bonus.
Two Wild Cats at $20 a spin was the most uneven mode. Spin 2 paid $244.20: three Wild Cats stretched down reels 1 to 3, and the WILD under one of them became a 4x multiplier. The count-up moved on before we caught its final figure, so the settled board above is the record.
Spin 6 paid $179.80 and spin 1 $36.00, while spins 7 and 8 paid nothing despite their two Wild Cats. The ten spins returned $492.00 from $200.00.
Three Wild Cats at $50 paid on every spin, from $1.00 to $167.90, and five of the ten beat their stake. None reached ten times it, and the mode returned $682.60 from $500.00. Spin 10 shows the expansion rule at work: two Wild Cats stretched down because a win needed them, while the third, at the foot of reel 4, stayed a single wild.
Three Wild Cats FeatureSpins spin 10 at $50, settled: two Wild Cats stretched down reels 2 and 3, a third left single, $7.00. FluxPlays demo test, 19 October 2026.
The $110 Ro$$ Bonus retriggered once, so it ran 14 spins instead of 10. Two spins paid nearly all of it, $77.00 and $78.00; in the first, Wild Cats stretched down reels 1 and 2 beside a WILD. During the round Maxx sleeps on the right while Ro$$'s pink tag runs over his name. The other twelve spins added $1.00, for $156.00.
The Ro$$ Bonus from our $110 buy, after its $77.00 spin: two Wild Cats down reels 1 and 2 beside a WILD, $77.80 so far. FluxPlays demo test, 19 October 2026.
The $200 Maxx Bonus activated only reels 1 and 5. Its best spin, $46.00, came from an expanded Wild Cat with a 3x multiplier; no other spin paid more than $7.80, and the round totalled $71.80.
Back on the base screen after our $110 Ro$$ Bonus buy: $156.00 for the 14-spin round and a $5,407.30 balance. FluxPlays demo test, 19 October 2026.
Each buy is one round, so these are single results. Mode by mode:
- Base game, 100 spins at $1: $100.00 in, $16.20 back
- BonusHunt FeatureSpins, 10 spins at $3: $30.00 in, $0.50 back
- Two Wild Cats FeatureSpins, 10 spins at $20: $200.00 in, $492.00 back ($247.80 without spin 2)
- Three Wild Cats FeatureSpins, 10 spins at $50: $500.00 in, $682.60 back
- Ro$$ Bonus buy at 110x: $110.00 in, $156.00 back
- Maxx Bonus buy at 200x: $200.00 in, $71.80 back
The server log sums the session to $1,140.00 staked and $1,419.10 returned. The rules screen showed 96.22%. We never saw a natural bonus or the Ro$-to-Maxx upgrade, and 100 spins cannot measure the RTP or the 3 out of 5 rating.
Is RIP City worth trying?
Everything in RIP City runs through one symbol. A Wild Cat only stretches when it completes a win, and it only multiplies when it passes over a WILD, so big results need the two to line up. When they do, several multipliers add together before they apply, and the ladder reaches 200x.
That makes the base game patient work, as our 100 spins showed, and puts the weight on the bonuses and the FeatureSpins that force Wild Cats onto the grid. The Maxx Bonus is the round that builds: each reel it activates keeps a Wild Cat for the rest of the spins. The Ro$ Bonus is cheaper and leans on better odds rather than guarantees.
In our test the $110 round paid $156.00 and the $200 one $71.80, one round each.
Hacksaw rates it 3 out of 5 for volatility, while every buy card prints High or, for Two Wild Cats, Very high. Besides the 96.22% our demo ran, Hacksaw lists versions at 94.27%, 92.32% and 88.02%.
Duel at Dawn, from November 2024, uses the same 5x5 grid and 19 lines, by both games' rules. Its VS symbols expand into full wild reels with a duel deciding a 2x to 200x multiplier, which also adds up across reels; RIP City's Wild Cats stretch only downward and need a WILD to carry a multiplier.
Wanted Dead or a Wild, from 2021, has the same 12,500x cap and expanding VS wild reels on a 5x5 grid, but with 15 lines and three bonuses, each with its own scatter.
Frequently Asked Questions
Can I play the RIP City slot demo?+
Yes, on this page. Hacksaw Gaming's own demo gives you $5,000 in play money and opens at a $2.00 bet. All five cards in its buy menu work, from the $3 BonusHunt mode to the $200 Maxx Bonus, and the three FeatureSpins modes keep running until you press DISABLE.
How does the Wild Cat work in RIP City?+
It lands as a single wild and stretches down to the bottom of its reel only if that completes a win, covering every square it passes. If it stretches over a green WILD, that WILD becomes a multiplier of 2x to 200x on the whole Wild Cat. Our best example was a $244.20 spin with three Wild Cats and a 4x.
What is the difference between the Ro$$ Bonus and the Maxx Bonus?+
The Ro$$ Bonus, from three scatters or 110x, plays 10 spins with better odds of Wild Cats and WILDs. The Maxx Bonus, from four scatters or 200x, activates any reel a Wild Cat lands on and then puts a Wild Cat there on every remaining spin. Four scatters inside the Ro$$ Bonus upgrade it to the Maxx Bonus.
What is the max win and RTP of RIP City?+
The cap is 12,500x the bet, reachable in the base game and in both bonuses. Hacksaw lists RTP versions of 96.22%, 94.27%, 92.32% and 88.02%, and our demo ran 96.22%. The FeatureSpins modes and buys sit between 96.2% and 96.44%, with BonusHunt the highest.
