Le Fisherman

Le Fisherman is a Hacksaw Gaming slot from February 2026 that takes Smokey, the raccoon from Le Bandit, out on a lake with a rod. It keeps the 6x5 cluster grid where wins leave Golden Squares for a Rainbow to cash, and adds Buckets, a second clover, an Epic Rainbow and a Big Catch Bar. Its meter reads 3 out of 5 for volatility, the demo runs at 96.33% RTP and wins cap at 15,000x. We tested the Le Fisherman demo with 100 spins at $1, both buys and all three FeatureSpins modes.

What is the Le Fisherman slot about?

Smokey swaps the back street for a green lake. He sits in a rowing boat in a fishing hat and an orange life jacket, and a bucket on top of the reels fills with fish as you play. The bought rounds move the scene to a frozen lake for On Thin Ice and under the water for Slippery When Wet, where he wears a snorkel and a mermaid tail.

A win needs 5 or more matching symbols touching horizontally or vertically. Super Cascades then take out the winning symbols along with every other symbol of that kind, and fresh ones fall in until no new win forms. The pink clam shell wild stands in for every symbol in the paytable.

At a $1 bet, five card letters pay $0.10 and 12 or more $10. Rain hats and floats pay $0.30 to $25, hooks and anchors $0.50 to $50, and the fish $1 to $100. The review sites we checked agree on a 42% hit rate, and 45 of our 100 base spins paid.

Le Fisherman bonus features

Golden Squares, Rainbows and the Epic Rainbow

After a win, the squares behind the winning symbols turn gold. A Rainbow activates them once every win is collected, while an Epic Rainbow reveals special symbols on all 30 positions instead. FS, Rainbow and Epic Rainbow symbols never land on the same spin. Coins pay these multiples of the bet:

• Bronze: 0.2x, 0.5x, 1x, 2x, 3x or 4x
• Silver: 5x, 10x, 15x or 20x
• Gold: 25x, 50x or 100x
• Diamond: 150x, 250x or 500x

Clovers and Buckets

Clovers act once the squares are revealed. A Green Clover multiplies the coins and buckets on the squares beside it, and a Gold Clover every coin and bucket on the grid, by x2, x3, x4, x5, x10 or x20.

Buckets then gather the coins and other activated buckets in the 3x3 around them, top to bottom and left to right, and Global Buckets gather the whole grid. Collected squares reveal again, no bucket collects twice, and the total is paid.

On Thin Ice

Three FS scatters at once award 10 free spins in which Golden Squares stay on the grid until a Rainbow activates them. Each FS symbol moves the Big Catch Bar one step. Every fifth reaches a new level, adds 5 spins and changes what a Rainbow becomes after it fires:

• Level 1: a Green Clover
• Level 2: a Global Bucket
• Level 3: a Gold Clover
• Level 4: a Rainbow or Epic Rainbow on every free spin, and a fired Rainbow becomes a Gold Clover

Slippery When Wet

Four scatters award 10 free spins with the same bar, and here the squares stay even after a Rainbow has activated them; after an Epic Rainbow, only the squares marked before it remain. The smallest coin is 1x.

Smokey Under Water

Five scatters at once open the Hidden Epic Bonus: 10 free spins under the Slippery When Wet rules with the bar fixed at Level 4, so a Rainbow or Epic Rainbow comes every spin. FS symbols cannot land, the round cannot be bought, and we did not see it. The 15,000x cap applies here and in every other mode, and reaching it ends the round.

Bonus buys and FeatureSpins

BUY BONUS shows five cards priced from the bet. The two bonus buys are On Thin Ice for 60x at 96.31% RTP, labelled medium volatility, and Slippery When Wet for 250x at 96.25%, labelled high.

The three FeatureSpins modes stay on until you press DISABLE. BonusHunt costs 3x a spin for five times the bonus chance (96.33%, high).

Rainbow Trout costs 50x and promises at least one win, a Rainbow or Epic Rainbow and coins of 1x or more (96.14%, high). Rainbow Epic Drop costs 500x for an Epic Rainbow every spin and the same 1x floor (96.28%, very high). FS symbols cannot land in either Rainbow mode.

Bets in the demo's rules go from $0.10 to $2,000, where the review sites we checked stop at $50.

Our Le Fisherman demo test

We played Hacksaw Gaming's official demo in US dollars from its $5,000 balance and checked each round against the game server's log. The 100 base spins at $1 returned $52.00 from 45 wins, most of them small: 33 paid under $1. Golden Squares lit up under almost every win, but a Rainbow came to activate them only once, and no free spins triggered.

That Rainbow, on spin 84, turned the squares into Bronze and Silver Coins beside an x5 Green Clover for $18.70, the best base win. Without it, the other 99 spins returned $33.30. The longest run without a win was 7 spins.

The $60 On Thin Ice buy gave 10 free spins and returned $35.30. By the server log one spin paid $33.00 of that and the others $2.30 between them. The Big Catch Bar never reached a level.

The $250 Slippery When Wet buy paid nothing for nine free spins while the kept squares spread. On the last, a Rainbow activated them, and by the server log that spin paid $5.20 and then a $66.00 cascade, the round's whole $71.20.

Ten BonusHunt FeatureSpins at $3 paid four small wins, $2.80 in all, and no bonus.

Ten Rainbow Trout FeatureSpins at $50 all paid, as the mode promises, and six of them paid more than their $50. The first covered the grid in coins with a Bucket at 45 and three x2 Green Clovers for $431.50, a single result: the other nine returned $442.80 for their $450.

Rainbow Epic Drop at $500 a spin paid every time too, from $92 to $829, but the ten returned $3,802 for $5,000. Its coins also count on the $1 base bet, as our settled boards show, so an Epic Rainbow board must reach 500x just to cover the spin, and three of ours did: $526, $829 and $513.

The server log totals $5,940.00 staked and $4,837.60 returned, in one demo session that ended at $3,897.60. The rules screen showed the 96.33% version. We never saw natural free spins, a Big Catch Bar level, a Gold Clover, a Global Bucket or Smokey Under Water, and one round per buy with ten spins per mode cannot show what the game pays over time.

Is Le Fisherman worth trying?

The reveal is still the heart of the game, and Le Fisherman gives it more parts: Buckets that gather their neighbours, Global Buckets and Gold Clovers that reach the whole grid, and an Epic Rainbow that fills every square. The Big Catch Bar gives the free spins a goal, since each level adds 5 spins and turns every fired Rainbow into something stronger.

Outside the bonuses, everything hangs on a Rainbow arriving on a winning spin, and plain cluster pays are small: five card letters return a tenth of the bet. The bought rounds grow only while FS symbols keep moving the bar. The two Rainbow modes skip the wait, but at 50x and 500x a spin, with coins still paid on the base bet.

The intro meter reads 3 out of 5, the rules give no word for it, and the buy cards range from medium for On Thin Ice to very high for Rainbow Epic Drop; the review sites we checked put the game's volatility between low and medium. The demo ran at 96.33%, and the same sites list versions as low as 86.25%.

Le Bandit, the 2023 game that started the series, shares the 6x5 cluster grid, Super Cascades and Rainbow-fired Golden Squares, by both games' rules. Le Fisherman swaps its grid-wide Pots of Gold for 3x3 Buckets and Global Buckets, adds a Gold Clover and an x20 clover value, splits the top coins into Gold and Diamond (both top out at 500x), and raises the cap from 10,000x to 15,000x.
