Zeus vs Hades - Gods of War is Pragmatic Play's May 2023 battle of the gods on 5x5 reels and 15 lines. Before the first spin you choose a side: Olympus, labelled high volatility, or Hades, labelled very high. Expanding wilds of up to 100x stick in free spins, and wins can reach 15,000x. What is the Zeus vs Hades - Gods of War slot about?

The game opens on a split CHOOSE VOLATILITY screen, Zeus with lightning on one side and Hades in flames on the other. Olympus sets the reels between marble columns under a stormy sky; Hades turns the same board into a lava underworld with chains. A banner on the left keeps both buttons, so you can switch sides between spins.

Each side has its own five premiums with the same pays. At a $1 bet the god pays $20 for five, pegasus or cerberus and eagle or phoenix $10, and the helmet and the chalice or goblet $5. A, K, Q, J and 10 pay $1 for five and $0.10 for three.

A plain WILD lands on any reel, stands in for everything but the scatter and pays $20 for five.

The rules give the two sides different bonus odds, not different reels: Olympus triggers free spins more often with a lower average round, Hades less often with a higher one. The RTP is 96.05% in Olympus and 96.07% in Hades.

Expanding wilds with multipliers

Two emblem wilds, a lightning bolt and a bull crest, land on all reels and pay like the plain wild. When one lands in the base game or free spins and a win would form after it grows, it fills its reel and takes a random multiplier: 2x to 10x in single steps, then 20x, 25x, 50x or 100x.

The multiplier covers every win the wild is part of, and when two or more share a win their multipliers add.

Free spins with sticky wilds

Scatters, a temple in the clouds or in flames, land only on reels 1, 3 and 5 of the base game, and three award 10 free spins. In the round every expanding wild that lands takes a multiplier and stays on its reel until the end, so later spins build on it. The round cannot be retriggered, and special reels are in play.

Buy options by side

The buy menu changes with the side. Olympus sells free spins for 75x the bet and Super Free Spins for 300x; Hades sells free spins for 150x and Super Free Spins for 300x. A Super round guarantees one expanding wild with a random multiplier in a random place on its first spin. The rules give each its own RTP: 96.04% and 96.01% in Olympus, 96.14% and 96.08% in Hades.

Maximum win, lines and bets

Wins are capped at 15,000x the bet in the base game and in free spins, and a round that reaches the cap ends at once. The rules page draws all 15 lines, where some sources list 10, and gives bets from $0.10 to $250, above the $100 top bet review sites show. There is no ante.

How it compares with Ra vs Osiris

Ra vs Osiris, a 2026 Pragmatic Play game we have tested, runs on the same frame by its rules: 5x5 reels, 15 lines, two god profiles with the same trade-off, the same paytable steps and expanding wilds whose multipliers add.

The rest goes further there. Its wilds reach 1,000x and walk one reel left in free spins instead of sticking, its rounds start at 6 spins with a minimum multiplier and can retrigger, it sells Super Spins in the base game, and it caps at 25,000x. Zeus vs Hades keeps it simpler: sticky wilds, 10 spins, no retrigger and a 15,000x cap.

Our Zeus vs Hades demo test

We chose Olympus for the 100 base spins and cut the opening $2.00 bet to $1.00 with five presses of the minus button in the settings menu. Spins 2 to 100 were started one at a time by a script clicking spin, never by autoplay. The game server's log records the profile on every round, Olympus as p200 and Hades as p400, and matches the side we played.

Only 15 of the 100 spins paid, and spins 34 to 60 brought nothing at all, a 27-spin dry run. Spin 15 did most of the work: an expanding wild showing Hades filled reel 3 with 25x and paid $25.00.

Free spins came on spin 19 but paid only $2.60. The base game returned $53.00 from $100.00; without spin 15 the other 99 spins returned $28.00, and without spin 19 as well, $25.40.

Hades counts as a second mode at the same price, so we played 10 spins there. The first triggered free spins at once, which paid $1.50, and the other nine paid nothing: $10.00 in, $1.50 back.

Each side has its own menu, so we bought all four options once at $1:

• Hades free spins, $150: wilds of 4x and 2x stuck, and free spins 4, 8 and 9 paid $1.00, $24.40 and $6.80, $32.20 in all
• Hades Super Free Spins, $300: the guaranteed wild came up 2x on reel 3, and eight small wins made $14.00
• Olympus free spins, $75: two wins of $0.10, $0.20 in all
• Olympus Super Free Spins, $300: the guaranteed wild came up 3x on reel 5, and the round paid $3.10 and $0.10, $3.20

The four buys cost $825.00 and returned $49.60. Both guaranteed wilds landed near the bottom of the 2x to 100x range, and no round came near its price. These are single rounds; four of them say nothing about which buy pays best. We never saw a wild above 25x or the 15,000x cap.

In all $935.00 went in and $104.10 came out, and the server balance closed at $99,169.10, matching our log. A sample like this cannot measure either side's RTP or volatility.

Is Zeus vs Hades - Gods of War worth trying?

The sticky wilds are the draw. In free spins every expanding wild stays with its multiplier, and wilds in the same win add, so two or three early ones can carry a round toward the 15,000x cap. The side switch costs nothing and changes the bonus odds and the buy prices, not the bet, so you can pick the shape of risk you prefer.

The other side of that is a quiet base game. In Olympus only 15 of our 100 spins paid, the round is a fixed 10 spins with no retrigger, and the Super buys cost 300x for a single guaranteed wild whose multiplier is random. The RTPs of 96.05% and 96.07% sit below Ra vs Osiris' 96.53% and 96.54%.
