Our verdict
Boat Bonanza puts its collect mechanic in the base game: a boat that activates above a reel reels in every cash fish below it, and two boats on one reel take the whole screen in a Mega Catch. Free spins keep both boats active with multipliers up to x5 and respins. Line pays are thin, there is no wild, and long dry runs are part of the deal.

Boat Bonanza: Full Review
Boat Bonanza is Play'n GO's October 2022 fishing slot: five reels, four rows and 12 fixed lines off a seaside pier. Cash fish land on the reels, and a boat that turns active above a reel reels in every fish below it, in the base game as well as the bonus. Two boats on one reel make a Mega Catch of the whole screen, and free spins add boat multipliers and respins. Our test covered 100 spins of the Boat Bonanza slot demo at $1.

What is Boat Bonanza?
The reels sit underwater below a sunny promenade with a Ferris wheel and a pier, and two little fishing boats ride the waves above them. A boat stays grey until it activates; then it turns red and fishes the reel beneath it.
Wins pay left to right on 12 fixed lines, with only the best win on each line. The paytable lists no wild symbol. At a $1 bet the buoy pays $200 for five and 50 cents for two, the fishing reel $100, the seagull and the lobster pot $50, and the royals 10 to A $10 for five and 50 cents for three.
The catch symbols, fish and the golden lobster, each carry a cash value and also pay as line symbols: $40 for five, $5 for four and $1 for three. The stake moves in steps with a minus and a plus; the server's 20 coin values at 10 coins a spin run from $0.10 to $50. There is no gamble, buy or ante.
Base spin 100 of 100 at $1, settled: cash fish of 3.00, 6.00 and 0.50 on reels 3 and 4 with both boats grey and inactive. FluxPlays demo test, 20 October 2026.
Boat Bonanza bonus features
Catch symbols and the boats
On any spin a boat can activate above a reel and collect the cash values of every catch symbol on the reel below. A cash catch symbol can be worth up to 1,000x the bet, the value the golden lobster shows on the paytable. Fish without an active boat above them pay nothing as catches, only as line symbols.

Mega Catch
When both boats activate above the same reel, the Mega Catch collects every catch symbol on all five reels at once. In free spins the two boats' multipliers are added together for it.

Free spins, multiplier boats and respins
Three, four or five scatters award 10, 15 or 20 free spins. Both boats are active on every free spin, each starting at x1. A +x3 fish adds to the multiplier of the boat that catches it, up to x5 per boat, and cash catches are multiplied by the catching boat's multiplier. A +1 fish adds a free spin, up to 39 in total.
Any cash catch in free spins starts respins that spin the reels in reverse. During them only catches count and the lines are off, and they run until no more cash is caught, without using up free spins.

RTP, volatility and max win
Its paytable caps wins at 5,000x the bet, which is $5,000 on a $1 stake. The help text and the seven paytable pages give no RTP, and the official page lists none. Review sites list 96.21% as the RTP and most rate the game high volatility; the demo does not show which version it runs.

Played on Play'n GO's official practice demo over 19 and 20 October. The demo shows credits without a currency label; we count one credit as one dollar. Every spin was at 1.00 (10 coins at 0.10 on the server), started one at a time by a script clicking the spin button, without Auto Play. Two sessions: spins 1 to 81 end at 24,990.50; the next paid spin awarded 10 free spins that were lost unplayed when the demo tab was closed during a pause, a $1 round outside the 100 with no win; a fresh session ran spins 82 to 100 to 24,993.00. Each session matches its own server balance and screen. Boat Bonanza has no bonus buy, ante, paid mode or gamble. No free spins were played, so the multiplier boats and respins were not seen. The rules state no RTP, so no version is shown. Totals for the 100 spins: $100.00 staked, $83.50 returned. A sample of 100 spins says nothing reliable about the RTP or the volatility.
The demo counts in credits without a currency, and we treat each credit as $1. Every spin cost exactly 1.00, 10 coins of 0.10 on the server, and a script started each spin in turn, without Auto Play.
The test ran in two practice sessions over 19 and 20 October. Session 1 covered spins 1 to 81 and reconciles to 24,990.50. The next paid spin awarded 10 free spins, but the test paused with the award screen open and the demo tab was then closed, so that award was lost unplayed: it cost $1, paid nothing and is not one of our 100 spins.
Session 2, a fresh 25,000.00, covered spins 82 to 100 and reconciles to 24,993.00. Over the 100 spins: $100.00 staked, $83.50 returned.
Only 11 spins paid, 5 of them under $1. Cash fish landed often, but most of the time both boats stayed grey, and spins 58 to 80 paid nothing, 23 in a row. The fish still paid as line symbols: spin 36's $7.00 came from them.
Base spin 36 of 100 at $1, settled: cash fish on reels 1 to 3 paying as line symbols with both boats inactive, $7.00. FluxPlays demo test, 19 October 2026.
One round made the session. On spin 52 both boats activated above reel 4, and the Mega Catch collected every fish on the reels by the server log: 50.00, 4.00, 1.50 and 1.50, $57.00 or 57x the bet.
Base spin 52 of 100 at $1, settled Mega Catch: the boat above reel 4 and every cash fish on the reels highlighted, $57.00. FluxPlays demo test, 19 October 2026.
Take that round away and the other 99 spins returned $26.50 from 10 wins. The best single-boat catch came on spin 88, when one boat above reel 2 caught fish of 7.50 and 2.00 for $9.50.
We never played a free spin, so the multiplier boats, respins, +1 and +x3 fish and the 1,000x lobster went unseen, and the cap was never near. A hundred spins cannot measure the RTP or the volatility.
Is Boat Bonanza worth trying?
Boat Bonanza puts its collect mechanic in the base game. Every spin can turn a boat red, and with two boats over one reel a single paid spin can sweep the whole screen, as our 57x Mega Catch did. In free spins both boats fish on every spin, with multipliers and respins on top.
Because respins do not use up free spins, a single good catch can keep one free spin fishing for several reverse spins, and a Mega Catch there pays the sum of both boats' multipliers.
The cost is a lot of dead spins. Fish land often but only pay big when a boat activates above them, the line pays are thin, and there is no wild. Our session paid on 11 spins in 100, and one round made up most of its return.
By both games' rules, Big Bass Bonanza is the closest live comparison. It uses the same layout of line pays, a $200 top symbol and $10 royals, and the same 10, 15 or 20 free spins for three to five scatters. Its fish values are won only in free spins, by a fisherman wild; Boat Bonanza's boats can collect on any spin and have no wild at all.
Frequently Asked Questions
Can I play the Boat Bonanza demo for free?+
Yes. This page loads Play'n GO's practice version with no account. It starts with 25,000 credits and no currency sign on a bet of 1.00, set with a minus and a plus rather than bet buttons. Each round collects its own winnings, and free spins wait on an award screen until you press spin.
How do the boats and Mega Catch work in Boat Bonanza?+
On any spin a boat above a reel can turn active and collect the cash value of every fish or lobster on the reel below. If both boats activate above the same reel, the Mega Catch collects every catch symbol on all five reels. Ours came on spin 52: both boats over reel 4, $57.00 at a $1 bet.
What happens in the Boat Bonanza free spins?+
Three, four or five scatters give 10, 15 or 20 free spins with both boats always active. Multiplier fish raise a boat's multiplier up to x5, +1 fish add spins up to 39, and any cash catch starts respins with the lines off until nothing more is caught. In a Mega Catch the two multipliers are added together.
Is Boat Bonanza the same as Colossal Catch or Down Under?+
No. Boat Bonanza Colossal Catch, Boat Bonanza Down Under and the other Boat Bonanza titles are separate Play'n GO games released later. This page covers the October 2022 original, with 5x4 reels, 12 lines and two collector boats, and every figure here comes from its own rules and our test.
What are the RTP and max win of Boat Bonanza?+
The paytable states up to 5,000x the bet, $5,000 at $1, and a single cash catch symbol can be worth up to 1,000x. No RTP appears in the help text, the paytable or on Play'n GO's page; review sites list 96.21%. The demo does not show its version, so check the casino's game information.
