Moon Princess builds every round on cascades: each drop raises the multiplier, three-symbol wins leave a Moon wild, and the princesses' Girl Powers rescue losing rounds. Free spins need a completely cleared board, where you pick 4, 5 or 8 spins and the multiplier climbs to x20. The base game pays small, there is no buy, and the rules give a 5,000x cap but no RTP.

Who it suits

Play this if…

  • You like cascades where every drop raises the multiplier and three-symbol wins leave wilds behind
  • You want a free spins choice: 4, 5 or 8 spins, each with its own princess power
  • You enjoy a clear goal on the board: empty all 25 positions to unlock the bonus

Skip this if…

  • You want a bonus buy or a quick route to free spins: only a fully cleared grid starts them
  • You dislike small base wins: three of the lowest symbols pay 10 cents at $1
  • You need the RTP from the game itself: the rules list none, and casinos pick from five versions

Moon Princess: Full Review

The Moon Princess slot is Play'n GO's July 2017 anime-styled grid game: a 5x5 board where three or more matching symbols in a row or column pay, drop away and raise a multiplier with every drop. Three princesses, Love, Star and Storm, take turns with powers for losing rounds, and clearing all 25 positions starts free spins with a multiplier up to x20. We played the Moon Princess demo for 100 spins at $1.

What is the Moon Princess slot?

The board glows on a pink and violet backdrop. On the left are the Multiplier badge, the win list and the round Princess Trinity meter; on the right the logo and the princess whose turn it is.

Any three or more matching symbols touching in a straight line, across or down, pay; every row and column counts, and one symbol can sit in several wins. Winners vanish, the rest fall, and each new drop raises the win multiplier, which goes back to x1 when the next paid round starts.

The Moon is the wild. It stands in for every symbol, and whenever a three-symbol win is removed a fresh Moon lands in its middle spot. When only wilds are left, they are removed too, which helps empty the board.

At a $1 bet five Moons in a row pay $50 and five of one princess $10, with $5 for five mixed princesses. The bell and heart pay $3 for five, the star and green medallion $2, and three of the smallest pay 10 cents.

The stake comes from five quick buttons, 0.60 to 4.00 around the default, with a minus and a plus for further steps. The server's 16 coin values of 0.01 to 5.00 at 20 coins a spin span $0.20 to $100; the help text states no limits. There is no gamble, buy or ante.

Moon Princess bonus features

Girl Power

On rounds without a win, the princess on the right can use her Girl Power at random, and the round then carries on:

  • Love: turns one set of symbols into another symbol
  • Star: adds one or two wilds
  • Storm: destroys two sets of symbols

After each Girl Power the next princess takes over, so the three rotate through a session.

Princess Trinity

The round meter under the win list has three sections, and only wins with princess symbols fill it, wilds included: five in a row fill three sections, four fill two and three fill one. Once it is full and no wins remain, a single free round starts with the multiplier reset. Each time a drop ends without a win, the next princess plays her Girl Power, until Love, Star and Storm have all had a turn. It cannot be retriggered.

Free spins for a cleared grid

Empty the whole board and the free spins begin, with a choice of princess: Love for 4 spins, Star for 5 or Storm for 8. Fewer spins carry more risk and more potential. Your princess uses her power on every losing free spin, and the multiplier no longer resets between spins, climbing as far as x20.

Filling the meter during free spins adds 4 spins with Love, 3 with Star or 2 with Storm, up to 20 in all; Princess Trinity does not run there. Clearing the board again inside the free spins pays an instant 100x the total bet.

RTP, volatility and max win

The paytable states the cap: up to 5,000x the bet, $5,000 at $1. Neither the help text nor the five paytable pages give an RTP, and the official page lists none. Review sites list 96.50% as the top version, with 94.51%, 91.49%, 87.50% and 84.50% versions casinos can run, and rate the game high volatility; the demo does not show its version.

Played on Play'n GO's official practice demo in one session, from a 25,000.00 balance, with no reload. The demo shows credits without a currency label; we count one credit as one dollar. Every spin was at 1.00 (20 coins at 0.05 on the server), started one at a time by a script clicking the spin button, without Auto Play. Moon Princess has no bonus buy, ante, paid mode or gamble. By the server log Girl Power fired on 11 rounds (Star 4, Storm 4, Love 3) and the Princess Trinity once (spin 12, $6.20). The grid never cleared, so the free spins, the princess choice, the x20 multiplier and the 100x clear were not seen. The rules state no RTP, so no version is shown. Totals from the server log: $100.00 staked, $39.95 returned, ending at 24,939.95 to the cent. A sample of 100 spins says nothing reliable about the RTP or the volatility.

The practice demo shows credits without a currency, and we count each one as a dollar. It opened at 25,000.00 on the 1.00 bet, 20 coins of 0.05 on the server, with Star beside the grid. A script pressed spin for each round in turn, without Auto Play, in one session with no reload.

The server log matches the screen to the cent: $100.00 staked, $39.95 returned and 24,939.95 at the end, on the server and on screen. Wins came on 33 spins, 23 of them under $1, and the longest losing run was 7 spins, 69 to 75. The balance never climbed above 24,999.15, its level after spin 1, and it ended at its lowest point.

Four rounds stood out, all near 6x the bet. The best, spin 21, paid $6.70 over a long chain of drops: the multiplier reached x7 and the board thinned to a handful of symbols, but never emptied.

Moon Princess spin 21 at a $1 bet, settled: a nearly empty grid, a win list with multipliers from x5 to x7 and WIN 6.70Base spin 21 of 100 at $1, settled: a nearly empty grid, the drop multiplier up to x7 in the win list, $6.70 in all. FluxPlays demo test, 19 October 2026.

Spin 12 was the Princess Trinity, by the server log: a feature line, then Love, Star and Storm in turn, for $6.20. The other two were $6.55 on spin 38 and $6.15 on spin 63, the second after a Star Girl Power. These are single results: without the four, the other 96 spins returned $14.35, none above $2.20.

Moon Princess spin 12 at a $1 bet, settled after the Princess Trinity: three Moon wilds left, multipliers x2 to x5 and WIN 6.20Base spin 12 of 100 at $1, settled after the Princess Trinity: three Moon wilds left and the multiplier from x2 to x5, $6.20. FluxPlays demo test, 19 October 2026.

Girl Power fired on 11 rounds by the server log, four times each for Star and Storm and three times for Love. Only three of those rounds paid $1 or more.

The board never cleared, so we never saw the free spins, the princess choice, the x20 multiplier or the 100x clear. A hundred spins without the main bonus cannot speak to the RTP or the volatility.

Is Moon Princess worth trying?

Moon Princess rewards long chains. Every drop lifts the multiplier, a three-symbol win leaves a wild behind, and the princesses' powers give a dead round a second chance. The one goal that matters, an empty board, turns all of that into free spins where the multiplier keeps building.

The flip side is how rare a full clear is, and how little the base game pays without one. Three of a small symbol pay 10 or 15 cents, the multiplier resets each paid round, and there is no buy. Our session never emptied the board and slid steadily.

By both games' rules, Rise of Olympus is the same machine in Greek dress. Its gods match the princesses power for power: Hades transforms, Poseidon adds wilds, Zeus destroys. Its free spins come for a clear, with 4, 5 or 8 spins, x20 and 100x for a clear, and it has the same paytable and the same 5,000x cap. Moon Princess came first, in 2017; Rise of Olympus followed in August 2018.

Our tests of the two ran alike as well: $39.95 here and $37.10 there, with best rounds of $6.70 and $6.50 and neither board cleared, single sessions both.

Frequently Asked Questions

Can I play the Moon Princess demo for free?+

Yes. The page runs Play'n GO's practice version with no account. It starts at 25,000 credits with no currency sign, on the 1.00 bet among buttons from 0.60 to 4.00, with Star as the first princess beside the grid. Every round pays out by itself when the drops stop; there is nothing to collect or gamble.

What does each princess do in Moon Princess?+

On a losing round the active princess can use her Girl Power: Love turns one set of symbols into another, Star adds one or two wilds, and Storm destroys two sets of symbols. The turn then passes to the next princess. In free spins your chosen princess acts on every losing spin. Our server log showed 11 Girl Powers in 100 spins.

How do you trigger free spins in Moon Princess?+

Clear all 25 positions on the grid. You then choose Love for 4 spins, Star for 5 or Storm for 8, the multiplier stops resetting and can reach x20, the meter adds spins up to 20, and another full clear pays 100x the bet. In our 100 spins the board thinned out but never cleared.

Is Moon Princess the same game as Rise of Olympus?+

They share one set of rules: the 5x5 grid, the rising drop multiplier, the paytable, three characters with transform, add-wild and destroy powers, a three-part meter, 4, 5 or 8 free spins for a clear and a 5,000x cap. Moon Princess is the July 2017 original with princesses; Rise of Olympus followed in August 2018 with Greek gods.

What are the RTP and max win of Moon Princess?+

The paytable states up to 5,000x the bet, $5,000 at $1. The game gives no RTP, and Play'n GO's page lists none; review sites list 96.50% as the top of five versions, the lowest 84.50%. The practice demo does not show its version, so the casino's own game information is the place to check.
