Our verdict
The Dog House Megaways moves the 2019 original onto up to 117,649 ways and changes its wilds: on reels 2 to 5 they multiply each other instead of adding, and three or more paws open a choice of 7 to 20 Sticky Wilds spins or 15 to 30 Raining Wilds spins, also reached by a 100x buy. The choice is the draw; the base game is thin, neither round retriggers, and the game names no maximum win.
Who it suits
Play this if…
- You want to pick your free spins: Sticky Wilds or Raining Wilds, chosen after the paws land
- You like wilds that multiply: a 2x and a 3x in one win make 6x, not 5x
- You want to buy straight in: one 100x buy leads to the same choice of rounds
Skip this if…
- You want a stated top prize: the game names no maximum win
- You want steady base-game wins: only 22 of our 100 spins paid, 15 of them under $1
- You want rounds that can grow: neither free spins option can be retriggered

The rules give a 96.55% RTP and medium volatility but no maximum win. We played 100 spins of The Dog House Megaways slot demo at $1 and bought the round twice.

What is The Dog House Megaways slot about?
The reels sit inside a wooden kennel under a bone-shaped logo, with a blue bird on the roof and a sunny street of houses and picket fences behind. A board beside the logo counts the ways on each spin, and free spins turn the scene to night.
Each spin redraws all six reels at up to seven symbols tall, and the ways are the heights multiplied: the 432 on our board below came from reels of 3, 3, 2, 4, 3 and 2. Wins pay left to right from reel 1 for three to six of a kind, the best win per way counts, and the rules describe no tumble.
At a $1 bet six Rottweilers pay $7.50, Shih Tzus $3, pugs $2 and dachshunds $1.50; the rules picture the dogs without names. Collars and bones also pay $1.50 for six, A, K and Q pay $1, and J and 10 pay $0.50, down to $0.05 for three.
After spin 100 at $1: reels of 3, 3, 2, 4, 3 and 2 symbols make 432 ways. FluxPlays demo test, 18 October 2026.
The Dog House Megaways bonus features
Wilds on reels 2 to 5 that multiply
The dog-house wild lands only on reels 2 to 5 and stands in for every symbol except the paw. A landing wild can carry a random 2x or 3x, though not every one does: our first spin showed a plain WILD beside a 2X and a 3X.
Several wilds in one win multiply each other. A 2x and a 3x make 6x, and 3x wilds on all four of reels 2 to 5 would multiply a base-game win by 81.
The rules: wilds only on reels 2 to 5, and several in one win multiply each other. FluxPlays demo test, 18 October 2026.
Paw scatters and the free spins choice
The red paw lands on all six reels, and three or more anywhere start free spins. Before the first spin you pick a round, and the offer grows with the paws: 7 Sticky Wilds or 15 Raining Wilds spins for three, 12 or 18 for four, 15 or 25 for five, and 20 or 30 for six.
Both rounds use special reels, and neither can be retriggered, although one review site we checked says extra paws add spins.
Three paws from our first buy: 7 Sticky Wilds spins or 15 Raining Wilds spins. FluxPlays demo test, 18 October 2026.
Sticky Wilds or Raining Wilds
In Sticky Wilds every wild that lands takes a 1x, 2x or 3x and stays to the end, resizing with its reel, and a reel never shrinks below the number of sticky wilds on it. Multipliers only pile up, but three paws give just 7 spins to collect them.
Raining Wilds runs 15 to 30 spins and keeps nothing. On every spin up to six wilds of any size, each with 1x, 2x or 3x, can drop onto the screen in random positions, so the round needs several to arrive on the same spin.
One 100x buy for both rounds
The single buy costs 100x the bet, $100 at $1, and lands three to six paws at random. You pick Sticky or Raining Wilds after it lands, so this bonus buy costs the same whichever round you want. The rules give it no RTP of its own, and there is no ante or special bet.
Maximum win, RTP and bets
The rules, the intro screen and the game server name no maximum win, so our table has none. The rules give a 96.55% RTP, as Pragmatic Play's game page does; two review sites add 95.53% and 94.55% versions.
Bets run from $0.20 to $240, above the $100 the review sites list, and their high volatility rating clashes with the game's own MEDIUM VOLATILITY badge, which we use.
What changed from The Dog House
Next to The Dog House, the 2019 original we tested the same day, the rules keep the medium label, the $0.20 to $240 bets and a round without retriggers, while the RTP edges up from 96.51% to 96.55%. Five reels and 20 lines become six reels and up to 117,649 ways.
The wilds change most. In the original they sit on reels 2 to 4, all wilds on a reel share a 2x or 3x, and they add up to 9x on a line; here they reach reel 5, only some carry a multiplier, and those multiply.
Paws now land on any reel, a choice of two rounds replaces the 3x3 grid of 9 to 27 spins, and the 100x buy is new. The original's banner states 6,750x; this game states no cap.

Played on the official demo with play money, base spins one at a time and without autoplay, in a single session. The game has no ante bet or special modes. Free spins never triggered in the 100 base spins, and two paws landed together only once. Spin 1's $27.60 was a single result: the other 99 spins returned $28.25. The game sells one 100x buy and the round is chosen after it lands, so we bought it twice: Sticky Wilds (7 spins) paid $140.40 and Raining Wilds (15 spins) $46.20, one round each. Totals from the spin log: $300.00 staked, $242.45 returned, ending at $99,942.45. 100 spins and one round of each option cannot measure the RTP or the volatility.
We cut the opening $2.00 bet to $1.00, which dropped the buy from $200 to $100, and played 100 base spins one at a time without autoplay. The round is picked only after the buy lands, so we bought it twice, once for each round.
The best base moment came first. Spin 1 landed a plain WILD, a 2X and a 3X on reels 2 to 4 across 6,720 ways and paid $27.60, a single result: the other 99 spins returned $28.25. In all 22 spins paid, 15 of them under $1, and the longest dry run lasted 12 spins, from 33 to 44.
Spin 1 of 100 at $1: three dog-house wilds on reels 2 to 4, $27.60, our best base win. FluxPlays demo test, 18 October 2026.
Wilds landed on 49 spins, but two paws came together only once, so free spins never started on their own and we never saw four or more paws.
Our first buy landed three paws and we chose Sticky Wilds for 7 spins. The first two paid nothing; then 2X wilds stuck on reels 2 to 4, and the last five spins paid $21.60, $36.00, $20.40, $39.60 and $22.80. The round made $140.40, 1.4 times its price.
The Sticky Wilds round settled: five sticky wilds on reels 2 to 4, $140.40 from 7 spins. FluxPlays demo test, 18 October 2026.
The second buy also landed three paws, and we took Raining Wilds for 15 spins. Eleven paid nothing. Free spin 7 paid $27.00, spins 5 and 12 added $1.60 and $2.00, and on the last spin a 3X and two 2X wilds fell on reels 2 to 4 for $15.60. The round made $46.20.
Raining Wilds, last spin: the WIN panel shows $30.60 from spins 1 to 14, before this spin's $15.60. FluxPlays demo test, 18 October 2026.
The shorter round paid three times as much, but one round of each cannot rank the two. The session, part by part:
- Base game, 100 spins at $1: $100.00 in, $55.85 back
- Free Spins buy with Sticky Wilds chosen: $100.00 in, $140.40 back
- Free Spins buy with Raining Wilds chosen: $100.00 in, $46.20 back
In all we staked $300.00 and got $242.45 back, and the server balance went from $100,000.00 to $99,942.45, matching our log. A hundred spins and two bought rounds cannot measure a 96.55% RTP or test the medium label.
Is The Dog House Megaways worth trying?
The choice is the reason to play. Multiplying wilds give a win far more room than the original's, up to 81x per base-game way against 9x per line, and after the trigger you pick wilds that stay for 7 to 20 spins or wilds that come and go for 15 to 30, at one buy price.
The base game is the weak half. Six Rottweilers pay only 7.5x the bet, so most spins wait on wilds, and paws are scarce: 78 of our 100 spins paid nothing. Neither round retriggers, and with no stated maximum win you cannot see the ceiling before you play.
The Dog House Megaways 1000, which we have also reviewed, is a later game with rules of its own; nothing on this page carries over to it.
Frequently Asked Questions
Can I play The Dog House Megaways demo for free?+
Yes. This page runs Pragmatic Play's official The Dog House Megaways demo with play money and no sign-up. It opened at $2.00 for us, and five presses of the minus button in the settings menu brought it to $1.00, which also cut the BUY FREE SPINS price from $200 to $100. The buy works in the demo, so you can try both free spins rounds without waiting for paws.
Is The Dog House Megaways the same as The Dog House or Dog House Megaways 1000?+
No. This page covers the 2020 Megaways game, code vswaysdogs: six reels with up to 117,649 ways, wilds on reels 2 to 5 that multiply each other and a choice of two free spins rounds. The Dog House is the 2019 original on 5x3 reels and 20 lines, whose wild multipliers add up. The Dog House Megaways 1000 and The Big Dog House are separate games with rules of their own.
Should I choose Sticky Wilds or Raining Wilds?+
They trade length against build-up. Sticky Wilds gives 7 to 20 spins, and every wild that lands stays to the end with a 1x, 2x or 3x. Raining Wilds gives 15 to 30 spins, with up to six random wilds dropped on each spin that do not stay. Our Sticky round paid $140.40 and our Raining round $46.20, but one round of each says nothing about which pays more over time.
Do the wild multipliers add or multiply in The Dog House Megaways?+
They multiply. The rules say that when more than one wild is part of a win, the multipliers multiply each other, so a 2x and a 3x give 6x, where the original The Dog House adds them for 5x. One review site we checked says they add. In the base game a wild carries 2x or 3x only some of the time; our first spin had a plain WILD beside a 2X and a 3X.
What are the RTP and max win of The Dog House Megaways?+
The demo's rules give a 96.55% RTP, the same as Pragmatic Play's game page, and two review sites we checked also list 95.53% and 94.55% versions for casinos. Neither the rules, the intro screen nor the game server names a maximum win. The review sites quote 12,305x, which we could not find anywhere in the game, so we leave it out. Our best round paid 140.4x the bet.
