Our verdict
The Dog House is a simple 20-line game with one strong idea: in free spins every wild sticks with its 2x or 3x, and wilds on one line add up to 9x. The rules are short and the banner promises 6,750x, but the base game leans on that round, which needs three paws on reels 1, 3 and 5, cannot be retriggered and cannot be bought.

Skip this if…
- You want a lively base game: 80 of our 100 spins paid nothing

The Dog House: Full Review
The Dog House is the 2019 Pragmatic Play original of its dog series: a 5x3 slot with 20 fixed lines, set in a backyard kennel, where dog-house wilds on reels 2, 3 and 4 carry 2x or 3x multipliers. Three bonus paws open 9 to 27 free spins in which every wild sticks. The rules rate it medium volatility with a 96.51% RTP, and the game's own banner promises up to 6,750x the bet. We played 100 spins of The Dog House slot demo at $1.

What is The Dog House slot about?
The reels sit inside a wooden kennel with a red roof, in a sunny suburban backyard of picket fences and neat houses, with a small blue bird perched on the roof's edge. A banner above the reels takes turns with its messages, among them WIN UP TO 6,750 X BET and WILDS ARE STICKY IN FREE SPINS. A PRAGMATIC PLAY mark sits bottom left.
Wins pay left to right on 20 fixed lines, and only the best win per line is paid. At a $1 bet the black-and-tan top dog in a studded collar pays $37.50 for five, the long-haired dog in a pink bow $25, the pug $15 and the brown long-eared dog $10. The rules show the dogs as pictures without names, and review sites disagree on the breeds.
Below the dogs, collars pay $7.50 for five and bones $5, A and K pay $2.50, and Q, J and 10 pay $1.25 for five, down to $0.10 for three. Every line needs three of a kind starting from reel 1.
Spin 19 of 100 at $1: a 3X wild on reel 2 in a $4.75 win. FluxPlays demo test, 18 October 2026.
The Dog House bonus features
Multiplier wilds on reels 2, 3 and 4
The wild is the dog house itself, and it lands only on the three middle reels. It stands in for every symbol except the bonus paw. On each spin, all wilds on the same reel share a random multiplier of 2x or 3x, which applies to every line the wild is part of.
When two or three wilds sit on one winning line, their multipliers are added, not multiplied: a 2x and a 3x make 5x, and three 3x wilds give the 9x maximum for a line. Two of the review sites we checked say the wilds multiply each other, but the rules say they add.
The rules: wilds only on reels 2, 3 and 4, and several on one line add their multipliers. FluxPlays demo test, 18 October 2026.
Bonus paws and the free spins grid
The bonus symbol is a red paw that lands only on reels 1, 3 and 5. Three of them pay 5x the bet and open the free spins round. Before it starts, a 3x3 grid spins with 1, 2 or 3 spins in each cell, and the cells are added up, so a round is worth anywhere from 9 to 27 free spins.
Sticky wilds in free spins
During the round every wild that lands on reels 2, 3 or 4 stays in place until the end, with a multiplier revealed as it lands that never changes. Wilds can only pile up as the round goes on. The round uses special reels, no bonus paws appear, and it cannot be retriggered. Two review sites add that the dogs land stacked in free spins; the rules mention only special reels.
The rules for the round we never reached: 9 to 27 free spins and sticky multiplier wilds. FluxPlays demo test, 18 October 2026.
Maximum win, bets and what is missing
The rules pages state no maximum win, but the game's intro screen and banner both say WIN UP TO 6,750 X BET, and that is the figure in our table. The demo's rules allow bets from $0.20 to $240, above the $100 maximum the review sites list. There is no bonus buy, ante bet or special bet, so free spins come only from three paws.
The intro screen: the game's own 6,750x figure and its medium volatility badge. FluxPlays demo test, 18 October 2026.

natural triggers in the session
Played on the official demo with play money, one spin at a time and without autoplay, in a single session. The game has no bonus buy, ante bet or special modes, so the 100 base spins were the whole test. Free spins never triggered: two or more bonus paws landed on 11 spins, never three. Wilds landed on 39 spins. The best spins were $5.00 (spin 30) and $4.75 (spin 19). Totals from the spin log: $100.00 staked, $23.25 returned, ending at $99,923.25 to the cent. 100 spins cannot measure the RTP or the volatility.
We brought the opening $2.00 bet down to $1.00 and played 100 spins one at a time, without autoplay. It was a slow session: 20 spins paid, 14 of them less than $1, and the 100 spins returned $23.25. The longest dry run lasted 23 spins, from spin 66 to 88, and the server balance ended at $99,923.25, matching our log.
Wilds turned up often. A dog house landed on 39 of the 100 spins, each reel with its own 2x or 3x, and both of our best spins had a 3X wild on the reels. Spin 19 paid $4.75 with a 3X wild on reel 2.
The best win came on spin 30, when four pink-bowed dogs lined up on line 16 for $5.00. A 3X wild sat on reel 4 that time as well, but below the line, so the dogs paid their plain four-of-a-kind rate.
Spin 30 of 100 at $1: four pink-bowed dogs on line 16, $5.00, our best win. FluxPlays demo test, 18 October 2026.
Free spins never came. Two or more paws landed on 11 spins, but never the three on reels 1, 3 and 5 that the round needs, so we saw neither the 3x3 grid nor a sticky wild. Most of the return arrived early: $17.55 in the first 39 spins and $5.70 in the other 61.
A hundred spins without a bonus round cannot measure a 96.51% RTP or test the medium label, and our 23% return says nothing about either.
Is The Dog House worth trying?
The free spins are the draw. Every wild that lands stays for the rest of the round with its multiplier, and because wilds on one line add their multipliers, a round that collects wilds early can lift ordinary line wins by up to 9x. With 9 to 27 spins drawn before it starts, one round can run three times as long as another.
The base game is the price of getting there. Lines need three of a kind from reel 1, wilds only help on the middle reels, and the round needs a paw on each of reels 1, 3 and 5, with no buy to skip the wait. In our test 80 spins paid nothing and the longest gap ran 23 spins.
Pragmatic Play labels the game medium volatility on both the intro screen and the rules page, while all three review sites we checked call it high. We go with the game's own label.
The series has grown a lot since 2019. The Dog House Megaways 1000, which we have also reviewed, carries the name onto Megaways reels.
Frequently Asked Questions
Can I play The Dog House demo for free?+
Yes. This page runs Pragmatic Play's official The Dog House demo with play money and no sign-up. It opened at $2.00 for us, and five presses of the minus button in the settings menu took it to $1.00, which is 20 lines at $0.05. There is no buy or ante, and the banner over the reels alternates between the 6,750x figure and a sticky-wilds reminder.
Is The Dog House the same as The Dog House Megaways or The Big Dog House?+
No. This page covers the original 2019 The Dog House, game code vs20doghouse: 5x3 reels, 20 lines, wilds on reels 2 to 4 and 9 to 27 free spins with sticky wilds. The Dog House Megaways, The Dog House Megaways 1000 and The Big Dog House are separate Pragmatic Play games with their own rules, and Dog House casino is an online casino brand, not a game.
How do the multiplier wilds work in The Dog House?+
Dog-house wilds land only on reels 2, 3 and 4, and every wild on a reel gets the same random 2x or 3x on each spin. When several wilds sit on one winning line, their multipliers are added, so the most a line can get is 9x, from three 3x wilds. In free spins each wild sticks with its multiplier until the round ends.
How many free spins do you get in The Dog House?+
Between 9 and 27. Three bonus paws on reels 1, 3 and 5 pay 5x the bet, then a 3x3 grid spins and each of its nine cells adds 1, 2 or 3 spins. The round cannot be retriggered and no paws appear during it. In our 100 spins two or more paws landed 11 times, but never all three.
What are the RTP and max win of The Dog House?+
The demo's rules give 96.51%, the same figure as Pragmatic Play's game page, and two of the review sites we checked also list a 95.51% version for casinos. The rules pages name no maximum win, but the intro screen and banner say up to 6,750x the bet, $6,750 at $1. Our best spin paid 5x.
