Our verdict
Mystery Joker is a bare three-reel fruit machine whose whole point is its free spins: three hats give 10 of them, and inside the round any two hats pay a mystery prize of up to 100x the bet. Line wins are rare without a wild but never smaller than $2 at $1. There are no buys or gamble, and the game states neither an RTP nor a maximum win.

Mystery Joker: Full Review
Mystery Joker is the oldest joker on Play'n GO's list, a fruit machine from September 2014 with three reels, three rows and five fixed lines. It has no wild: the jester's hat is a scatter, three of them give 10 free spins, and inside those spins any two hats pay a mystery prize of 1x to 100x the bet. This is the 2014 original, not Mystery Joker 6000. There is no buy and no gamble, so our Mystery Joker slot demo test was 100 plain spins at $1.

What is the Mystery Joker slot?
The reels sit in gold frames on a purple wallpaper of question marks, with a small text display above them that reports each win. The line numbers run down both sides, and the balance, bet and win readouts glow red below. Play'n GO's own page calls it one of its original Jokers.
All five lines are always on: line 1 is the middle row, 2 the top row, 3 the bottom row, and 4 and 5 the two diagonals. A win needs three of a kind across a line, read from reel 1, and a line pays only its highest win. The bet is split across the lines, so at $1 each carries 20 cents.
That layout gives the positions different weight. The centre lies on three lines, the middle row and both diagonals, each corner on two, and the four edge middles on one only, so a symbol in the middle of reel 2 helps more than one at the top of it.
The paytable lists pays per line bet. At $1, three stars pay $10 on a line, three bells $8 and three bunches of grapes $6, while lemons and cherries pay $2 each. Without a wild, every line needs three of one symbol, and no line win is smaller than $2.
The default bet sits among five buttons from 0.40 to 2.00, with a minus and a plus for further steps. The server lists line bets of 0.02 to 20.00 on the five lines, so the demo runs from $0.10 to $100 a spin; listings that start at $0.50 miss the lower steps. Wins pay out by themselves, with no collect step and no gamble.
Base spin 7 of 100 at $1, settled: three cherries on the bottom row and on diagonal line 5, $2.00 each, $4.00 in all. FluxPlays demo test, 19 October 2026.

Mystery Joker bonus features
The joker hat scatter
The hat is the only special symbol. It pays anywhere on the reels rather than on a line, and three of them anywhere award 10 free spins. In the base game two hats pay nothing, because the Mystery Win runs only in free spins.
Base spin 23 of 100 at $1: three joker hats award 10 free spins, and the display reads free spin 1 of 10. FluxPlays demo test, 19 October 2026.
Free spins
Each round opens on an award screen that waits for a press of spin, and the display above the reels then counts the spins off one by one. The free spins play at the same bet and lines as the spin that triggered them, and the wallpaper turns red while they run.
Three more hats during the round add more spins, and the feature can be retriggered up to a total of 50 free spins.
Mystery Win
The Mystery Win is the real prize of the bonus, and it exists only during free spins. Whenever two or three hats land anywhere, they pay a mystery prize of 1 to 100 times the total bet, which is $1 to $100 at a $1 bet but scales with the stake. The prize is added to any line wins on that spin, and three hats also bring more free spins.
Free spin 3 after base spin 23, at $1: two joker hats on reels 1 and 3 pay a $50.00 Mystery Win. FluxPlays demo test, 19 October 2026.
RTP, volatility and max win
The help text and paytable state no RTP and no maximum win, and neither does the official page. Review sites list 96.98% as the top RTP version and rate the game medium volatility; the demo does not show which version it runs.
The maximum figures published elsewhere do not agree, so we show none. On the paytable alone, the best line win is $10 at $1, or $50 if all five lines showed stars. In free spins each Mystery Win can add up to 100x on top.

Played on Play'n GO's official practice demo in one session, from a 25,000.00 balance, with no reload. The demo shows credits without a currency label; we count one credit as one dollar. Every spin was at 1.00 (five fixed lines at 0.20); spin 1 by mouse, the rest started one at a time by a script clicking the spin button, without Auto Play, and each free spins round with one click on its award screen. Mystery Joker has no bonus buy, ante, paid mode or gamble. Free spins came on spins 23, 35 and 78 (10 each, no retrigger), paying $62.00, $0.00 and $8.00. A communication-delay message on spin 35's ninth free spin cleared by itself and changed nothing. Without the three bonus rounds the other 97 spins returned $56.00. The rules state no RTP, so no version is shown. Totals from the server log: $100.00 staked, $126.00 returned, ending at 25,026.00 to the cent. A sample of 100 spins says nothing reliable about the RTP or the volatility.
We played Play'n GO's official practice demo at $1 a spin, five lines at 0.20. The demo's credits show no currency, and we treat one credit as $1. The demo opened at 25,000.00 on the 1.00 bet. The first spin was a click, a script started the rest one at a time without Auto Play, and each free spins round began with one click on its award screen.
In all, $126.00 came back on $100.00 staked, and the final balance of 25,026.00 agreed with both the server and the screen. Only 14 spins paid, and none paid less than $2. The longest run without a win was 19 spins, 24 to 42, and it ran straight through the empty bonus round on spin 35.
Three hats landed three times, each for 10 free spins and none retriggered. The round from spin 23 paid $62.00 in all, 62x the bet. On free spin 3 two hats paid a $50.00 Mystery Win, and the round's win readout then stood at $50.00. As the round closed, the display showed another two-hat prize of $2.00.
The free spins from base spin 23 of 100 at $1, finished: TOTAL WIN 62.00, 62x the bet, before the game collected it. FluxPlays demo test, 19 October 2026.
The round from spin 35 paid nothing at all in ten spins, despite a short communication pause that cleared by itself. The round from spin 78 paid $8.00.
The free spins made the session. Without the three bonus rounds, the other 97 spins returned $56.00 from 12 wins: $12.00 on spin 62, $10.00 on spin 57, $8.00 on spin 11, four of $4.00 and five of $2.00. The balance fell to its low of 24,992.00 just before spin 23 and peaked at 25,053.00 right after it.
We never saw a retrigger, and no Mystery Win reached the 100x top. One hundred spins are far too few to measure the RTP or the volatility.
Is Mystery Joker worth trying?
Mystery Joker is about as plain as a modern slot gets: five lines, five line symbols, no wild and one feature. What it does well is make the free spins matter. Two hats are enough for a prize of up to 100x the bet on any free spin, and three hats extend the round, so a bonus with ten spins carries real potential.
The cost is long quiet stretches. Without a wild the base game needs three of one symbol on a line, so wins are rare, though none is tiny. Our bonus rounds paid $62.00, $0.00 and $8.00, which shows how much of the game rides on the mystery prize.
Against Fire Joker, by both games' rules, the frame is the same: a 3x3 grid with five fixed lines. Fire Joker adds a jester wild, a Respin of Fire and a x10 wheel and caps wins at 800x, but has no free spins.
Mystery Joker drops the wild for scatter free spins with mystery prizes. Our Fire Joker session paid $77.40 from 24 wins, this one $126.00 from 14, single sessions both.
Frequently Asked Questions
Can I play the Mystery Joker demo for free?+
Yes. The page loads Play'n GO's practice version, free and without an account. It holds 25,000 credits with no currency sign and opens on the 1.00 bet, five lines at 0.20, among buttons from 0.40 to 2.00. Free spins wait on an award screen until you press spin, and there is no gamble or anything to buy.
How does the Mystery Win work in Mystery Joker?+
It runs only during free spins. Any two or three joker hats anywhere on the reels pay a mystery prize of 1 to 100 times the total bet, added to that spin's line wins, and three hats also add free spins. In our test two hats paid $50.00 on the third free spin after spin 23.
How many free spins can you get in Mystery Joker?+
Three hats anywhere in the base game award 10 free spins at the same bet. More hats during the round add spins, and the feature can be retriggered up to a total of 50 free spins. We triggered it three times in 100 spins, each time for 10 spins, without a retrigger.
What are the RTP and max win of Mystery Joker?+
The game states neither, and neither does Play'n GO's page. Review sites list 96.98% as the top RTP version, but their maximum wins range from 100x to over 6,000x the bet, so we list none. The practice demo does not show which RTP version it runs; check the casino's game information.
Is Mystery Joker the same as Mystery Joker 6000?+
No. Mystery Joker 6000 is a separate Play'n GO game released in December 2017. This page covers the September 2014 original, with its three reels, five fixed lines and hat-scatter free spins, and every figure here comes from that game's own rules and our test of it.
