Sleeping Dragon Ultra Dark is a Pragmatic Play slot that sets a black-and-gold dragon asleep on its hoard above the reels and builds the game around a hold-and-respin coin feature with fixed jackpots. It launched on 23 July 2026 as a high-volatility 5x3 game with 10 paylines, a 96.50% top RTP and a 20,000x cap. What is the Sleeping Dragon Ultra Dark slot about?

The setting is a ruined hall full of green mist, with stained-glass knights behind the dragon and its pile of coins. The reels hold the usual 10 to A royals, plus a sword, a dragon shield, a crown and a crowned princess as the higher pays. To the right of the reels sits the jackpot ladder, shown in cash at your current bet: Mini 20x, Minor 100x, Major 200x, Dragon 400x and Mega 7,000x.

Wins come along 10 fixed lines and land often but small. Pragmatic Play quotes a 33.78% hit rate, and 75 of our 200 spins paid something, but 48 of those paid less than the $1 stake.

Respin Bonus

Six or more money coins start the Respin Bonus, and Pragmatic Play says it can also trigger at random. Everything except the coins clears, you get three respins, and every new coin sticks and resets the count to three. When the respins run out, all coin values are paid. Coins show cash values (we saw 1x to 10x in the base game) or one of the Mini, Minor and Major jackpots. A round that ends with all 15 positions filled adds the 7,000x Mega prize.

Coins can also appear above the reels. That is how our base-game round started: five coins landed and two more dropped down from above to make seven.

Money Egg

If a money egg lands during the respins, a separate 3x3 respin game plays out once the main round ends. Filling it with coins pays the 400x Dragon prize. We never saw it in our test.

Free spins

Three, four or five scatters award 8, 12 or 50 free spins. During the round, reels 2, 3 and 4 spin as one giant 3x3 symbol. A giant coin awards up to 200x and starts the Respin Bonus, and a giant scatter adds three more spins.

Bonus buys

The Buy Bonus button opens four options. The Respin Bonus and Free Spins each cost 50x the bet. The Super Respin Bonus costs 100x and lets coins carry up to 1,000x, and the Ultra Respin Bonus costs 1,000x with coins worth up to 10,000x. Our Sleeping Dragon Ultra Dark demo test

The base game was almost all small line hits until spins 153 and 154, which arrived back to back. Spin 153 started the Respin Bonus, which grew from seven coins to ten and paid $20. Spin 154 started free spins: eight spins plus three more from a giant scatter, paying $13.10 in total. Those two spins made up $33.10 of the $116.60 we got back. Jackpot coins (one Minor and three Minis) landed on four other spins, but without six coins in view they paid nothing.

The buys swung hard in both directions. The $50 Respin Bonus started with six coins and ended after three empty respins for $14. The $50 Free Spins paid $26 over eight spins, with the giant symbol landing as a wild twice and as the princess twice, but no giant coin. The $100 Super Respin Bonus was the highlight: its first respin dropped a $150 coin, and the round finished on $163.

The $1,000 Ultra Respin Bonus went the other way. It collected three more small coins over nine respins and paid $17, with none of its high values landing. One detail matters if you are thinking of buying: all three respin buys started exactly the same way, with six coins filling reels 1 and 5 and the middle three reels empty. A dearer tier changes what can land, not where you start. Across the four buys we spent $1,200 and got $220 back.

Two practical notes. Win celebrations are sized to the $1 base bet rather than the buy price, so a $17 return on a $1,000 buy still plays a Big Win screen, and the $163 result played a Gigantic Win count-up that ran for about 40 seconds unless skipped. After any buy, a Rebuy shortcut for the same option appears under the Buy Bonus button.

Is Sleeping Dragon Ultra Dark worth trying?

It is if you like classic hold-and-respin rounds. The jackpot ladder is easy to read, the giant-symbol free spins add a second way into the coins, and the 96.50% RTP holds across the base game and every buy in the version we played. The 20,000x cap and the Ultra tier's 10,000x coins give it real top-end potential on paper.

The catch is how the game gets there. The base game pays mostly small change, a respin round can be over after three empty spins, and the Money Egg and the big jackpots are rare: we saw none of them.
