Bubble Up!

Bubble Up! is a bright, cartoon reef slot from Pragmatic Play, with a pink octopus lounging on a stone head beside a 6x6 grid of fish, seahorses, shrimps, shells and starfish. It launched on 24 August 2026 as a high-volatility game with 40 paylines, a 96.52% top RTP and a 10,000x cap. Its idea is a twist on money symbols: they only pay when a bubble frame lands around them. We played 100 spins of the Bubble Up! slot demo at $1, bought free spins and tried both Super Spin modes.

What is the Bubble Up! slot about?

It is a sunny underwater scene, all bubbles and coral, with five jackpot bubbles hanging above the reels: Maxi, Grand, Major, Minor and Mini, shown in cash at your bet. Free spins move to a purple reef with a treasure chest, and the win celebrations are wobbly jelly bars with fish swimming around them.

Line wins pay for three to six matching sea creatures across 40 fixed lines. The money symbols are red pufferfish carrying cash values, and they land constantly: on 90 of our 100 base spins. Pragmatic Play quotes a 15.08% hit rate, about one win in seven spins, and 17 of our 100 spins paid something.

Bubble frames and money symbols

Money symbols show values from 0.5x to 20x the bet, or one of the five jackpots: Mini 20x, Minor 40x, Major 80x, Grand 200x and Maxi 10,000x. On their own they pay nothing. They only pay when a bubble frame, from 2x2 up to the full 6x6, lands around them. When two frames overlap, the money in the overlap is multiplied by 2x, 3x, 5x, 8x or 10x.

That makes the frames the real feature. In our base game a frame appeared on just three spins, and none of them caught a single money symbol.

Free spins and upgrades

Three, four, five or six scatters award six free spins and one to four upgrades, chosen by picking coins until two match. There are four to find: MORE money symbols, MORE scatters, LEVEL UP for bigger frames, and DUAL for two frames on every spin. In free spins at least one frame shows on every spin. Scatters collected along a trail above the reels grow the frame one size and add two spins for every three collected, up to the full 6x6 grid.

Special bets and Super Spins

The Special Bets panel offers three options, all at 96.51% RTP. The ante bet costs 1.5x the bet for what the game calls more power-ups during free spins. Super Spin 1 costs 20x and puts one frame on every spin, and Super Spin 2 costs 100x and puts two frames on every spin. Scatters cannot land during either Super Spin, so neither can lead to free spins.

Our Bubble Up! demo test

The base game was hard work. Our 100 spins returned $48.75, only 17 paid, and the longest run without a win was 18 spins. Because the three frames we saw caught nothing, every dollar came from line wins or our one free spins round, and the best line win was $9.50.

Free spins arrived early, on spin 5, with exactly three scatters. The coin pick took five tries to match an upgrade, landing on more money symbols, but the frame only grew to 3x3 and the round paid $11.75 over eight spins.

The $100 buy was much better, because the coin pick gave LEVEL UP. The frame started at 3x3, and collected scatters grew it to 4x4, then 5x5, then the full 6x6 grid, adding two spins each time for 12 in total. The last spin, with the whole grid framed, collected $32 of money symbols on its own, and the round paid $82.50.

The Super Spins showed how much the frames matter. Super Spin 1 at $20 a spin placed a frame every time, but only two of the ten spins caught any money in a frame, for $15 and $13: $28 back from $200. Super Spin 2 at $100 a spin placed two frames every time, overlapping on nine spins, yet seven spins still paid nothing. The one that hit was huge. A 5x5 and a 3x3 frame overlapped over two Major symbols worth $80 each and a Mini, and the overlap tripled one Major and a $4 symbol. That spin paid $363, and the ten returned $452.50 for $1,000.

Two practical notes. The coin pick needs manual clicks and pauses autoplay until you finish it. The jackpot bubbles scale with your bet, so at the demo's opening $2 bet the Maxi reads $20,000. Step the bet down if you want to follow our $1 test.

Is Bubble Up! worth trying?

It is if you like a fresh idea and a cheerful look. The frames give money symbols a new job, the upgrade pick makes every free spins round a little different, and watching a frame grow to the full grid is satisfying. The RTP stays at 96.51% to 96.52% across every option.

It is also very streaky, and every source we checked agrees on high volatility. Money lands constantly but almost never inside a frame in the base game, so most spins look promising and pay nothing. Our base session returned 49%. Super Spin 2 made the point clearly: seven blank spins and one $363 hit.
