Sugar Rush 1000

Sugar Rush 1000 is the 1000 edition of Pragmatic Play's Sugar Rush, released in March 2024: a 7x7 candy slot where clusters of five or more tumble away and leave marked spots behind. Spots become multipliers that double up to x1,024, and in free spins they stay for the whole round. The demo's rules give a 96.53% RTP, high volatility and a 25,000x cap. We played the Sugar Rush 1000 demo for 100 spins at $1 and bought both bonus rounds.

What is the Sugar Rush 1000 slot about?

The grid sits inside a pastel candy machine with a frosted, sprinkled top, against pink and blue clouds, with a gumball machine on the right and the two buy buttons on the left. Red, purple and orange gummy bears share the grid with hearts, stars, jelly beans and lollipops. A PRAGMATIC PLAY mark sits in the bottom-left corner.

Symbols pay in blocks of five or more touching horizontally or vertically, and every size from 5 to 15 or more has its own pay. At a $1 bet the pink lollipop pays $1 for five, $5 for ten and $150 for 15 or more; the orange heart $0.75, $4 and $100; the jelly bean $0.50, $3 and $60; the star $0.40, $2 and $40. The three bears pay least.

Every win tumbles. The winning symbols pay and vanish, the rest fall, and new ones drop in until no fresh cluster forms; the whole sequence is paid at the end. The rules list no wild, only the seven candies and a scatter.

Sugar Rush 1000 bonus features

Multiplier spots

When a winning symbol explodes, it marks its spot. The second explosion on a marked spot adds an x2 multiplier, and each one after that doubles it, up to x1,024. A multiplier applies to every win that lands on top of it, and when one cluster covers several of them, they are added together, not multiplied. In the base game the spots clear when the tumbles stop.

Free spins

The scatter is a gumball machine that can land anywhere. Three, four, five, six or seven of them award 10, 12, 15, 20 or 30 free spins, and the same counts during the round add that many more. In free spins the marked spots and their multipliers stay until the round ends and keep growing with every tumble. Free spins use special reels.

The two buys and their RTP

Buy Free Spins costs 100x the bet, and Buy Super Free Spins 500x; in the Super round every spot on the grid starts with an x2 multiplier already in place. Both land three to seven scatters at random on the bought spin. One review site describes a Super grid that starts at x16 in the middle with smaller rings around it, but the rules say x2 on every spot.

The rules give the base game 96.53% RTP, Buy Free Spins 96.52% and Buy Super Free Spins 96.44%, so the dearer buy carries the lowest return on paper. Review sites list a 97.50% top version, and Pragmatic Play's own game page says 96.00%; the figure that counts is the one on the rules page where you play. There is no ante or special bet.

Maximum win and bets

Wins are capped at 25,000x the bet in the base game and in free spins, and a round that reaches the cap ends at once with any spins left forfeited. Bets run from $0.20 to $240 in the demo's rules, against the $100 maximum that some review sites list.

What changed from Sugar Rush

We have not tested the original, so this rests on facts at least two sources agree on. Pragmatic Play's page for Sugar Rush and the three review sites we checked put its spot multipliers at a top of 128x; here they reach x1,024. The sites give the original a 5,000x cap against 25,000x here, and describe a single 100x buy where Sugar Rush 1000 adds the 500x Super round.

Our Sugar Rush 1000 demo test

We lowered the opening $2.00 bet to $1.00, which also cut the buy prices from $200 and $1,000 to $100 and $500, and played 100 spins one at a time, without autoplay. They returned $232.40 from 34 wins: 19 under $1, 13 from $1 to $5, $6.95 on spin 64 and $188.05 on spin 88. At worst, 10 spins in a row paid nothing, from spin 25 to 34.

Spots already mattered in the base game. On spin 64 five jelly beans landed on spots worth x6 between them and paid $3.00 instead of $0.50, the largest part of the spin's $6.95.

Spin 88 then landed three scatters for 10 free spins. The spots built up through the round, and on the last spin 10 hearts landed on spots worth x28 for $112.00 while 6 stars sat on x80 for $40.00. Those two clusters made $152.00 of the round's $188.05; the rest of the round made $36.05.

That round is a single result. Without it the other 99 spins returned $44.35, less than half of what they cost.

Both buys landed only three scatters and 10 spins, with no retrigger. The $100 Free Spins paid $20.75. The $500 Super Free Spins started with every spot at x2, yet stood at $3.00 with three spins left and finished at $35.80.

The session staked $700.00 and returned $288.95, from $100,000.00 to $99,588.95, matching the server log. We never saw four or more scatters, a retrigger or a cluster multiplier above x80. One natural round and one round per buy cannot measure a 96.53% RTP or the high rating.

Is Sugar Rush 1000 worth trying?

The spots are the whole game. Once a spot has a multiplier, it doubles every time a winning symbol explodes on it, so a cluster that lands on a well-used patch can pay many times its table value, as our x28 and x80 clusters did. In free spins nothing resets, so a long round, or a retrigger worth 10 to 30 more spins, keeps building on the same grid.

The catch is that spots need wins to grow and wins to pay. A round that starts slowly can finish small, and even the Super buy's x2 head start does not guarantee clusters: ours stood at $3.00 after seven spins. The Super buy is also the lowest-RTP way to play, at 96.44%, and most base-game wins are below the bet.

Jade Legends, a 7x7 cluster game we have tested, marks winning spots the same way, but there each further explosion adds one to the multiplier, up to x10,000, and a dragon turns the marked spots into coins. Here the multiplier doubles and simply boosts the wins on top of it.
