Our verdict
Christmas Big Bass Bonanza is Big Bass Bonanza in winter dress: the same lines, pays, fish values, ladder, 2,100x cap and 96.71% RTP under its rules, with Santa as the collecting wild. It adds a 100x buy at the same RTP and a medium badge. Fish cash and the wild still belong to free spins alone, so the base game is plain line play.
Who it suits
Play this if…
- You want Big Bass Bonanza with a festive look: the pays and features follow the original's rules
- You like a simple collect: Santa takes every fish on screen, and the ladder multiplies the rest
- You want to skip the wait: the 100x buy keeps the 96.71% RTP
Skip this if…
- You already play the original: apart from the buy and the badge, nothing new happens here
- You want base-game action: fish cash and the wild belong to free spins only
- You want a high ceiling: wins stop at 2,100x

What is the Christmas Big Bass Bonanza slot about?
The reels sit under icy blue water, with ice along the top edge, sea plants hung with baubles on the left and candy-striped sea urchins on the right. Two bass in Santa hats flank the logo, a wooden BUY FREE SPINS sign hangs on the left, and a REEL KINGDOM mark sits bottom left.
The 10 lines pay from the leftmost reel, with only the top win counted on each. At a $1 bet the Christmas bauble float pays $200 for five and $0.50 for two, the only two-symbol win. The candy-cane rod pays $100, the sleigh and the gift tackle box $50 each, and the fish $20. A, K, Q, J and 10 all pay $10 for five and $0.50 for three.
Every fish is also a money symbol with a tag of 2x, 5x, 10x, 15x, 20x, 25x, 50x or 2,000x the bet. In the base game the tag is only decoration: the fish pays as a line symbol, and its cash can be won only in free spins. Santa, the wild, appears only in the round as well.
Spin 1 of 100 at $1: $3.00 in line wins, while the $2.00 to $15.00 tags on the fish paid nothing. FluxPlays demo test, 18 October 2026.
Christmas Big Bass Bonanza bonus features
Scatters and free spins
The scatter is a leaping bass in a Santa hat and lands on all five reels. Three award 10 free spins, four award 15 and five award 20, and the round runs on special reels.
Santa collects the fish
In free spins Santa lands on any reel, substitutes for everything except the scatter, and collects the value of every fish on screen. Two Santas on one spin each collect the lot. When a spin ends with a single Santa in view, the game can drop fish into random positions for him to collect.
The rules: fish carry 2x to 2,000x, every fourth Santa retriggers the round, and wins stop at 2,100x. FluxPlays demo test, 18 October 2026.
Retriggers at 2x, 3x and 10x
Every Santa that lands is counted on a bar of slots across the top of the reels. The fourth retriggers 10 more spins and doubles all fish collections from then on, the eighth brings 10 more at 3x and the twelfth 10 more at 10x. The new spins follow the current batch, and the round cannot retrigger a fourth time.
Buy Free Spins and the cap
The round can be bought for 100x the total bet, $100 at $1, and the rules give the buy the same 96.71% RTP as normal play. There is one price and no choice of round, and no ante bet or special mode.
Wins are capped at 2,100x the bet, a figure the game server reports too, and a round that reaches it ends at once. A single 2,000x fish collected at 2x or more would get there. Bets run from $0.10 to $250, and the rules carry a MEDIUM VOLATILITY badge where the review sites we checked call the game medium-high or high.
What changed from Big Bass Bonanza
Set side by side, the two games' rules match almost line for line. Big Bass Bonanza has the same 10 lines, the same pay for every symbol at every count, the same fish values, the same 10, 15 or 20 spins, the same 2x, 3x and 10x ladder, the same 2,100x cap and the same 96.71% RTP.
Two things differ. The original's demo offers no buy, while this one sells the round for 100x. And the original's rules show a LOW VOLATILITY badge where this game's show medium. Everything else in the rules reads the same, and what changes is the dressing: Santa for the fisherman, a sleigh for the dragonfly, a bauble for the float and snow on every letter.

Played on the official demo with play money in a single session: spin 1 with an ordinary click, spins 2 to 100 started one at a time by a script clicking the spin button, without autoplay; quick spin from spin 2 (speed only). The game has no ante bet, special modes or gamble. Free spins never triggered in the 100 base spins. Spin 35's $41.00 was a single result: the other 99 spins returned $31.50; the server log shows $10.00 on spin 79 and every other win was $3.00 or less. The Free Spins buy ($100) gave 10 spins from 3 scatters; three Santas collected $10.00 in fish money and lines added $4.00, $14.00 in all, no retrigger, a single result. Totals from the spin log: $200.00 staked, $86.50 returned, ending at $99,886.50. 100 spins and one buy cannot measure the RTP or the volatility.
The demo opened at $2.00 with the buy at $200 and went straight to the reels, with no intro screen. Five presses of the minus button left the bet at $1.00 and the buy at $100. Spin 1 was clicked by hand; a script clicked the spin button for spins 2 to 100, without autoplay, and quick spin from spin 2 only sped things up.
Only 19 of the 100 spins paid, and the longest run without a win lasted 26 spins, from 48 to 73. The base game still returned $72.50, because one spin did most of the work.
On spin 35 fish filled the top row, with more on the middle row. Two lines of five fish paid $20.00 each and a line of three paid $1.00, $41.00 in all, 41 times the bet, with a MEGA WIN banner. The fish tags on screen, from $2.00 up to a $50.00 reindeer fish, paid nothing.
Spin 35 of 100 at $1: two lines of five fish at $20.00 and one of three at $1.00 paid $41.00. FluxPlays demo test, 18 October 2026.
That was a single result: without spin 35, the other 99 spins returned $31.50. The game server's log shows $10.00 on spin 79, and every other win was $3.00 or less. Free spins never triggered on their own.
The $100 buy landed three scatters on reels 1, 4 and 5, which paid nothing themselves and awarded 10 free spins.
Our $100 buy at $1: three scatters on reels 1, 4 and 5 and a $50.00 reindeer fish on reel 3. FluxPlays demo test, 18 October 2026.
Free spins 1 and 2 paid nothing. On free spin 3 two Santas landed and collected $8.00 in fish money, with a $0.50 line on top. Free spin 6 brought a third Santa and a $2.00 catch plus a $3.00 line, and free spin 8 a $0.50 line. The other seven spins paid nothing.
Free spin 3 of our bought round: Santas on reels 2 and 5 collect the $2.00 fish, under the bar of Santa slots. FluxPlays demo test, 18 October 2026.
Three Santas left the bar one short of the first retrigger, and the round ended at $14.00, 0.14 times its price.
The $100 buy's result: $14.00 from 10 free spins at $1, with three Santas lit on the bar. FluxPlays demo test, 18 October 2026.
We never saw a retrigger, a collection multiplier, the random extra fish or four or five scatters; those come from the rules.
The session in two parts:
- Base game, 100 spins at $1: $100.00 in, $72.50 back
- Free Spins buy at 100x: $100.00 in, $14.00 back
In all we staked $200.00 and got $86.50 back, and the server balance went from $100,000.00 to $99,886.50, the same as our log. A hundred spins and one bought round cannot measure a 96.71% RTP or the medium badge.
Is Christmas Big Bass Bonanza worth trying?
If you like the original, this is the same fishing trip in a winter coat, with one practical extra: the 100x buy, at no RTP cost under the rules. The collect is easy to follow, fish can carry up to 2,000x, and the ladder turns every later catch into a bigger one once four Santas are in.
The original's limits come along too. Fish cash and the wild exist only in free spins, so the base game is line play, and in our test 81 of 100 spins paid nothing. The cap stays at the original's 2,100x, and every ladder step needs four Santas; our bought round stopped at three.
Big Bass Halloween Splash 1000, the other seasonal Big Bass game we have tested, takes the formula much further: a pumpkin pick before the round, extra free-spin features and a 20,000x cap.
Frequently Asked Questions
Can I play the Christmas Big Bass Bonanza demo for free?+
Yes. This page runs the official Christmas Big Bass Bonanza demo from Pragmatic Play and Reel Kingdom with play money and no sign-up. Ours opened straight on the reels at a $2.00 bet, with the buy at $200; five presses of the minus button brought them to $1.00 and $100. The buy works in the demo, and there is no ante or bet mode.
What is the difference between Christmas Big Bass Bonanza and Big Bass Bonanza?+
Under both games' rules, very little. The lines, the pays for every symbol, the fish values, the 10 to 20 free spins, the 2x, 3x and 10x ladder, the 2,100x cap and the 96.71% RTP all match. This version adds a 100x buy, which the original's demo lacks, and its rules show a medium volatility badge where the original's show low. Santa replaces the fisherman.
Is Christmas Big Bass Bonanza the same as Big Bass Christmas Bash?+
No. This page covers the 2021 Christmas edition of Big Bass Bonanza, game code vs10bxmasbnza, with 10 lines, Santa collecting fish in free spins and a 2,100x cap. Big Bass Christmas Bash and Big Bass Christmas - Frozen Lake are separate games with their own rules. We have not tested either, so nothing here describes them.
Do the fish pay their cash value in the base game?+
No. Every fish carries a tag of 2x to 2,000x the bet, but the rules let you win that cash only in free spins, when Santa lands and collects it. In the base game a fish pays only as a line symbol, $20 for five at $1. On our spin 35 fish tagged up to $50.00 filled the top row, and the spin paid $41.00, all of it from lines.
What are the RTP, volatility and max win of Christmas Big Bass Bonanza?+
The rules give 96.71% for normal play and for the buy, the same figure as Pragmatic Play's game page, and two review sites also list a 95.67% version that some casinos run. The rules page shows a MEDIUM VOLATILITY badge. Wins are capped at 2,100x the bet, $2,100 at $1, and a free spins round that reaches the cap ends at once.
