Deep Sea Frenzy is a Pragmatic Play slot, released on 5 October 2026, where money sharks on a cartoon reef wait for a collector on the last reel. It has 5x4 reels, 50 paylines, a 16,000x cap, medium volatility and a 96.52% top RTP. In free spins every shark's value climbs a fixed ladder, from 1x on the first spin to 200x by the twelfth. For this review we played 100 base spins of the Deep Sea Frenzy demo at $1 and bought the bonus once.

What is the Deep Sea Frenzy slot about?

The reels sit in a gold frame on a blue and purple reef, with an open chest of coins in one corner and a sunken ship in the other. Everything is bright and cartoonish: grinning red, green and hammerhead sharks, a shipwreck, a treasure chest and chunky card ranks. In free spins the reels turn purple and a FRENZY panel shows what each money shark is currently worth.

Wins pay left to right on 50 fixed lines. At a $1 bet five hammerheads pay $8.00, five red or green sharks $6.40, the ship and chest $4.00, A and K $3.20, Q and J $2.00, and 10 and 9 $1.60. The sharks also pay $0.08 to $0.12 for two of a kind.

The wild is a gold coin with an octopus on it. It lands on reels 2 to 5 and stands in for everything except the money sharks.

Money sharks and collectors

The money symbols are open-jawed sharks carrying a cash value, and they land on reels 1 to 4. Collectors land only on reel 5 and come in five kinds: a plain FRENZY collector, 2x, 3x and 5x multiplier collectors, and a +1 SPIN collector. In the base game they pay only when 8 or more money sharks land with one, and that same spin starts free spins.

When it happens, every shark value is collected and paid, multiplied first if the collector carries a multiplier, and a +1 SPIN collector adds an extra free spin. One review site says any collector pays the sharks in view in the base game, but the rules only describe the eight-shark case.

Free spins and the money ladder

The round starts with 5 free spins on special reels, or 6 after a +1 SPIN trigger. Shark values stop being random: every shark is worth 1x on the first spin, then 2x, 3x, 5x, 10x, 15x, 25x, 50x, 100x, 150x, 175x and 200x on the twelfth and any spin after it. Now any number of sharks pays when a collector lands.

Multiplier collectors still multiply what they collect. The round gets more valuable the longer it lasts, and every +1 SPIN collector pushes it one rung further up the ladder. A round that reaches 16,000x the bet ends at once.

Ante bet and buy

The ante bet, which we did not test, raises the bet multiplier from 25x to 40x, 1.6 times the stake, for a seven-shark trigger, 1.8 times the free spins chance and no buy. The bonus buy costs 170x and starts free spins without a collection, after a pick of four cards worth 5, 6, 7 or 8 spins. All three run at 96.52% RTP.

Our Deep Sea Frenzy demo test

We played 100 base spins at $1, one at a time and without autoplay, and got $159.80 back from 31 wins. Fifteen of them paid under $1, and the longest dry run was 8 spins, twice. The base game finished $59.80 ahead, but only because of two natural free spins rounds.

Both triggers paid as they landed. On spin 19 eight $1.00 sharks and a +1 SPIN collector paid $8.00 and gave 6 free spins, and that round paid $22.80. On spin 54 nine $1.00 sharks and a FRENZY collector paid $9.00 and started 5 free spins, and an early +1 SPIN collector made it 6.

The spin 54 round climbed the ladder well. Collects paid $36.00 on one spin and $20.00 from two 10x sharks on another, and on the last spin two 15x sharks landed with no collector. It paid $73.68, our biggest result, but it is a single round, not a measure of what free spins usually pay.

Without spins 19 and 54, the other 98 spins returned $63.32, so the base game on its own fell well short of its stake. Line wins carried it, and the best was spin 30: hammerheads across most of the board for $16.40.

The $170 buy opened the card pick, and our King of Diamonds gave 7 free spins, though the game server's log shows the 7 had been set before we chose. A 2x collector doubled two 2x sharks for $8.00, three 10x sharks paid $30.00, and a 25x shark on the last spin had no collector. The round paid $41.00.

Results by part of the test, with the base game first:

• Base game without the two free spins rounds, 98 spins: $98.00 in, $63.32 back
• Free Spins buy at 170x: $170.00 in, $41.00 back

In all we staked $270.00 and got $200.80 back. We never saw a shark worth more than 25x or a 5x collector, and the ante stayed off under our protocol. One session of 100 spins and one buy cannot measure a 96.52% RTP or the volatility.

Is Deep Sea Frenzy worth trying?

The ladder is the good idea. Because shark values in free spins are fixed and rise every spin, you always know what the next collector is worth, and a late one is worth far more than an early one. Every +1 SPIN collector extends the climb, the cap is a high 16,000x, and the base game, ante and buy all share the same 96.52% RTP.

The catch is the length of the climb. Starting with 5 or 6 spins, the ladder stops at 10x or 15x unless +1 SPIN collectors extend it, and 200x needs a twelfth spin. Sharks that land without a collector pay nothing, which happened in all three of our rounds. In the base game a collector needs eight sharks to pay, so most spins rely on small line wins.

The rules page labels it medium volatility, and no source we checked disagrees.

The shape will be familiar from the Big Bass collect formula: money symbols that wait for a collector. In Big Bass Vegas 1000 the collectors are fisherman wilds in free spins and each fish carries its own value; here the collector has a reel of its own and the values follow the ladder.
