Gates of Olympus POP fits the Zeus tumble-and-orbs formula into a 3x5 phone-shaped grid and adds POP symbols that can pay a fixed prize as they trigger free spins. It is easy to pick up and its top RTP is 97.05%, but with 15 positions and nine of a kind topping out at 50x, ordinary wins stay small, so the game leans on orbs and rare POP prizes, with no buy or ante to reach them sooner.

Who it suits

Play this if…

  • You want a pay-anywhere tumble slot that fits an upright phone screen
  • You like a short rulebook: one bonus round, no buys and no special bets
  • You like the idea of a fixed 50x, 500x or 25,000x prize riding on a free spins trigger

Skip this if…

  • You want sizeable base-game wins: nine of a kind pays at most 50x, and 19 of our 29 wins were under $1
  • You like to buy the bonus or raise your odds with an ante bet: neither exists here
  • You play on a wide desktop screen: the grid fills only a narrow strip in the middle

What is the Gates of Olympus POP slot about?

Mount Olympus is a pastel city in the clouds, all golden domes, marble temples and flaming columns. The reels sit on a narrow purple panel in the middle, under three prize plaques named SNAP, BURST and SPARK, and a small, smiling Zeus stands by the spin button. The layout is made for a phone held upright, so on a wide desktop screen the sides are just scenery.

There are six pay symbols: red, purple and yellow gems, a gold ring, an hourglass and a jewelled crown, and no wild. Five or more of one symbol anywhere on the grid make a win, and nine or more pay 2x to 50x the bet, depending on the symbol. With 15 positions, nine of one symbol covers 60% of the screen.

Pragmatic Play's figures put a win on 28.82% of spins and free spins on one spin in 221.58 on average. Our session matched the first figure, with 29 of 100 spins paying, though most of those wins were small change.

Gates of Olympus POP base game at a $1 bet: a 3x5 grid of gems, rings, hourglasses and crowns under the SNAP, BURST and SPARK panelsBefore our first spin at $1: the plaques read $500, $25,000 and $50. FluxPlays demo test, 15 October 2026.

Gates of Olympus POP bonus features

Tumbles

Each win clears its symbols, the rest slide down and new ones fill the gaps. The chain runs for as long as new wins form and is paid as one total when it stops, and that total is what the multipliers act on.

Multiplier orbs

Multipliers arrive as winged orbs in five designs, each with a random value: 2x, 3x, 4x, 5x, 6x, 8x, 10x, 12x, 15x, 20x, 25x, 50x, 100x, 250x, 500x or 1,000x. An orb stays put until the tumble chain ends, then all the orbs in view are added up and multiply the chain's total win, if there is one. They land in the base game as well as in free spins.

POP symbols and the three prizes

POP symbols give this version its name. A POP counts toward the free spins trigger just like a Zeus scatter, and any three of the two together start the round. POPs in that trio also pay a fixed prize: one pays SPARK at 50x the bet, two pay SNAP at 500x, and three pay BURST at 25,000x, which equals the game's maximum win.

One review we read says the trigger needs at least one POP, but the game's rules accept any mix, so three plain scatters start free spins without a prize.

Free spins

The round gives 15 free spins on its own reels, where the orbs build. An orb on a winning spin adds its value to a total multiplier that lasts all round, and from then on every winning spin with a new orb is multiplied by that total. Two or more scatters add five spins. A round that reaches 25,000x the bet ends at once.

What changed from Gates of Olympus

Next to the original Gates of Olympus, POP is a trimmed, phone-first cut. The 6x5 grid shrinks to 3 reels by 5 rows, with five of a kind needed for a win. The top orb value doubles from 500x to 1,000x, the POP prizes are new, and the special bets and bonus buy are gone, so free spins can only be won by spinning.

Played on the official demo with play money, one spin at a time. The game has no bonus buy, ante bet, Super Spins or other modes, so the base game was all there was to test. Two scatters landed on 8 spins, three on none, and no POP symbol appeared. One session of 100 spins cannot measure the 97.05% RTP or the volatility; it only shows how these spins went.

We played 100 spins at $1 on the official demo, one at a time, and got $41.00 back. Wins came often, 29 of them, close to the official hit rate, but they were tiny: 19 paid under $1, mostly $0.20 to $0.60, and only two paid more than $5. The longest dry run was nine spins, from spin 37 to spin 45.

The best moments came early. Spin 4 ran five winning tumbles that took the win from $2.00 to $5.60 and put us briefly ahead. Spins 16 to 18 paid three times running, and the last two held the session's only orbs: on spin 17 a 2x orb doubled $1.60 to $3.20, and on spin 18 two orbs worth 10x together turned $0.20 into $2.00.

Gates of Olympus POP settled board after five winning tumbles on spin 4, showing TUMBLE WIN $5.60 at a $1.00 betSpin 4 of 100 at $1: five winning tumbles for $5.60. FluxPlays demo test, 15 October 2026.

After that the balance drifted down, with one exception. On spin 79 two small tumbles paid $0.20 and $0.40, then a third added $10.00, for $10.60, or 10.6x the bet. Two Zeus scatters sat on the bottom row as it settled, one short of free spins. Without spins 4 and 79, the other 98 spins returned $24.80.

Gates of Olympus POP biggest win of our test at a $1 bet: TUMBLE WIN $10.60 on spin 79, with two Zeus scatters on the bottom rowSpin 79 of 100 at $1: $10.60, our biggest win, with two scatters showing. FluxPlays demo test, 15 October 2026.

That near miss summed up the session. Two scatters landed on eight spins and three on none, and the POP symbol never appeared, so we never saw free spins, the running total multiplier, the retrigger or any of the three prizes. A hundred spins is far too few to judge a 97.05% RTP or a volatility label: these figures describe one session, not a forecast.

The demo opens at a $2.00 bet, with the plaques at $100, $1,000 and $50,000, and has no Buy Feature or special bets button. The minus button lowers the bet in $0.20 steps.

Is Gates of Olympus POP worth trying?

Its strength is how little there is to learn: one free spins round, no buys, no modes, and a grid built for a phone in one hand. Orbs work in the base game too, so any win can be multiplied. The 97.05% top RTP is the version the demo runs, but casinos can choose a lower one, down to 94.57%.

The small grid is also its limit. With 15 positions and a paytable that stops at 50x for nine of a kind, ordinary wins stay modest, and the real value depends on orbs landing on winning spins or on a POP prize. Without a buy, the base game is the only way into the bonus, and BURST needs all three POPs in a single trigger.

Sources disagree on how much it swings. The game's rules page and Pragmatic Play both call it low volatility, two review sites we checked say medium, and a third says low to medium. We go with the game's own label. In our sample, low meant frequent but small wins, not a steady balance: after spin 6 it fell for most of the session.

Gates of Olympus POP rules page with the LOW VOLATILITY badge, the 25,000x max win, a 97.05% RTP and bets from $0.10 to $250The game's own rules page settles the volatility question: low. FluxPlays demo test, 15 October 2026.

For the same pay-anywhere tumble and multiplier idea on a full 6x5 grid, with buys and special bets as well, compare it with Death Dominion, where a Doom symbol can wipe your multipliers or add to them.

Frequently Asked Questions

Can I play the Gates of Olympus POP demo for free?+

Yes. This page loads Pragmatic Play's official Gates of Olympus POP demo with play money, so no account or deposit is needed. It starts at a $2.00 bet, where the SPARK, SNAP and BURST plaques read $100, $1,000 and $50,000. There is no Buy Feature or special bets button, so in the demo, as in our 100-spin test, free spins can only come from spinning.

What is the RTP of Gates of Olympus POP?+

97.05% in the version the demo runs, and that is the only figure on its rules page. Pragmatic Play also ships 96.56%, 95.56% and 94.57% versions, and each casino chooses which one to offer. Some review sites list only those three lower figures.

What do the POP symbols do in Gates of Olympus POP?+

They count toward the free spins trigger like scatters, and pay a fixed prize when they are among the three: 50x the bet for one (SPARK), 500x for two (SNAP) and 25,000x for all three (BURST). A POP is not required, as any three scatter or POP symbols start the round. We did not see a single POP in 100 spins.

How is Gates of Olympus POP different from Gates of Olympus?+

It is a portrait game with 3 reels and 5 rows instead of the original's 6x5 grid, and five matching symbols anywhere make a win. Its orbs go up to 1,000x rather than 500x, POP symbols add three fixed prizes, and there is no bonus buy or special bet.

Is Gates of Olympus POP low or medium volatility?+

Low, according to the LOW VOLATILITY badge on the game's own rules page, and Pragmatic Play gives the same label. Some review sites list it as medium or low to medium, but we follow the game. Low does not mean the balance holds steady: our 100 spins at $1 paid back $41.00.
