Our verdict
Gates of Olympus 1000 keeps the original's rules and raises the stakes on them: orbs reach 1,000x, the free spins total multiplier still lasts the whole round, and the game's own figure for the ceiling is 15,000x. The base game remains a run of small pays unless orbs land with a win, and there is one 100x buy, with no Super round.

Gates of Olympus 1000: Full Review
Gates of Olympus 1000 is Pragmatic Play's December 2023 update of its 2021 Zeus slot. Eight or more matching symbols anywhere on the 6x5 grid still pay and tumble, but the multiplier orbs now reach 1,000x and the game's intro promises up to 15,000x the bet. In free spins every orb on a winning spin feeds a total multiplier that lasts the whole round. The rules give 96.50% RTP and high volatility. We played the Gates of Olympus 1000 demo for 100 spins at $1 and bought free spins once.

What is the Gates of Olympus 1000 slot about?
Zeus stands to the right of a gold-framed grid, white-haired and laurel-crowned in gold armour, with temple columns and a violet sky behind him. The 1000 logo sits above him in large gold numerals. On the left are the buy button, the double chance panel and a dark box that fills with the pays of each tumble sequence.
The symbols are the original's: a crown, an hourglass, a ring and a chalice as the high pays, and red, purple, yellow, green and blue gems below them. Zeus himself is the scatter. The paytable has no wild.
Counts, not lines, decide a win: 8 or 9, 10 or 11, or 12 to 30 of one symbol anywhere on the screen. At $1 the crown pays $10, $25 or $50 across those bands, the ring $2, $5 or $15, and the blue gem $0.25, $0.75 or $2. Each win clears its symbols, new ones fall into the gaps, and the run of tumbles is paid once it ends.
Spin 21 of 100 at $1, settled: three symbol wins for $3.20 and two scatters on the grid. FluxPlays demo test, 19 October 2026.
Gates of Olympus 1000 bonus features
Multiplier orbs to 1,000x
Orbs can drop on any reel, during spins and tumbles, in the base game and in free spins. The rules show four winged orbs in green, blue, purple and red and a fifth crystal design. Each orb takes a value of 2x, 3x, 4x, 5x, 6x, 8x, 10x, 12x, 15x, 20x, 25x, 50x, 100x, 250x, 500x or 1,000x.
When the tumbles end, the orbs in view are added together and the whole sequence's win is multiplied by the sum; with no win, they do nothing.
Rules page 2: the five multiplier designs and the values from 2x to 1,000x. FluxPlays demo test, 19 October 2026.
Free spins and the total multiplier
Four or more Zeus scatters pay 3x, 5x or 100x the bet for four, five or six and start 15 free spins; three or more inside the round add 5 more.
Here the orbs build a total multiplier. An orb that lands on a winning spin adds its value to the total, which stays until the round ends, and every later win that comes with a new orb is multiplied by the total as well. A win without a new orb gets nothing extra.
One buy and the double chance bet
The only buy is Buy Free Spins at 100x the bet, $100 at $1, and it guarantees four scatters on the bought spin. This demo offers no Super buy: none in the buy menu, none on the rules pages and none in the game server's list of purchases, unlike the 1000 editions of Sweet Bonanza and Sugar Rush.
The double chance panel switches to bet multiplier 25x, $1.25 per $1, doubling the natural trigger chance and turning the buy off. We left it off.
RTP, maximum win and bets
The rules give 96.50% for normal play, 96.50% with the double chance bet and 96.49% for the buy, matching Pragmatic Play's 96.50%.
The intro screen and the banner above the reels say wins go up to 15,000x the bet, the figure the review sites give too; the rules pages themselves do not state it. Bets run from $0.20 to $300 in the rules, where the sites list $100. The rules and the review sites agree on high volatility.
What changed from Gates of Olympus
We tested the original the same day, so both rules and both logs are on file. The grid, the paytable, the scatter pays, the 15 free spins, the total multiplier rule, the double chance bet and the $0.20 to $300 bet range are unchanged. The orb values gain 1,000x above the original's 500x top, plus the new crystal design, and the stated ceiling rises to 15,000x where the sites give the original 5,000x.
The badge changes too: the original's rules say medium volatility, this one's say high, and the buy's RTP dips to 96.49% against 96.50% there. In our tests the original's 100 spins returned $47.75 and its $100 buy $40.40; here they returned $32.50 and $127.05. Each is one sample, not a sign of which game pays more.

Played on the official demo with play money in one session at $1, double chance bet off (ante level 0 on every round in the server log). The demo opened at $2.00 and was lowered to $1.00. Free spins never triggered in the 100 base spins. The best base spin was $5.05 on spin 64, a single result, without which the other 99 spins returned $27.45. The Free Spins buy ($100), the only buy the game offers, paid $127.05 in 15 spins with no retrigger, a single result. Totals from the spin log: $200.00 staked, $159.55 returned, ending at $99,959.55. 100 spins and one buy cannot measure the RTP or the volatility.
The demo opened at a $2.00 bet; five presses of the minus button brought it to $1.00 and the buy price from $200 to $100. With the double chance bet off, the 100 spins returned $32.50 from 33 winning spins. 22 of them paid under $1, 10 paid between $1 and $3.95, and the longest losing run lasted 11 spins, from spin 78 to 88.
Our best base spin, spin 64, came to $5.05 from five symbol groups: 9 rings for $2.00, 8 red gems for $1.00, 9 purple gems for $0.80, 10 blue gems for $0.75 and 8 yellow gems for $0.50. Those pays add to exactly $5.05, so no orb took part. Without it the other 99 spins returned $27.45.
Spin 64 of 100 at $1, settled: five symbol groups for $5.05, our best base spin. FluxPlays demo test, 19 October 2026.
No base spin brought four scatters, so we paid $100 for the round. The guaranteed four scatters paid $3.00 and gave 15 free spins. The total multiplier panel showed 6x with 11 spins left and 12x with 3 left, and the round stood at $54.15 going into the last spin. That spin's tumbles paid $72.90 under a 19x total and finished the round at $127.05, with no retrigger.
The last free spin of our $100 buy: total multiplier 19x, round total $127.05. FluxPlays demo test, 19 October 2026.
The $100 buy at a $1 bet: $127.05 in 15 free spins. FluxPlays demo test, 19 October 2026.
Our $200.00, split by source:
- Base game, 100 spins at $1: $100.00 in, $32.50 back
- Free Spins buy at 100x: $100.00 in, $127.05 back
So $159.55 came back in all, and the balance closed at $99,959.55 from $100,000.00, the figure the server log shows. A natural trigger, a retrigger and the double chance bet never came up. One bought round and 100 spins tell you nothing firm about a 96.50% RTP or the high badge.
Is Gates of Olympus 1000 worth trying?
The case for it is the total multiplier with a much higher ceiling. Every winning orb in free spins stays in the total, values now reach 1,000x, and the 15,000x ceiling is three times the 5,000x given for the original, so a round that collects orbs early has room to grow. Our bought round showed the shape: $54.15 over its first 14 spins, then $72.90 on the last one at 19x.
The case against is the rest of the time. The base game pays mostly small amounts unless orbs land with a win, and our 100 spins returned $32.50. The total only touches wins that bring a new orb, and the single 100x buy carries a slightly lower RTP than plain spins.
Our Gates of Olympus review covers the 2021 original with the same rules and a lower ceiling. Gates of Olympus 2500, which we also tested, goes further again, with orbs to 2,500x, a 25,000x cap and four buys.
Frequently Asked Questions
Can I play the Gates of Olympus 1000 demo for free?+
Yes. This page runs Pragmatic Play's official Gates of Olympus 1000 demo with play money and no sign-up. Ours opened at a $2.00 bet with the buy at $200; five presses of the minus button brought them to $1.00 and $100. The one buy works in the demo after a tick to confirm, and the double chance panel starts off.
What changed from Gates of Olympus to Gates of Olympus 1000?+
Orbs gain a 1,000x value above the original's 500x top, the ceiling rises to 15,000x from the 5,000x the review sites give the original, and the rules badge moves from medium to high volatility. The grid, paytable, 15 free spins, total multiplier rule and 100x buy carry over. We tested both on 19 October 2026.
Does Gates of Olympus 1000 have a Super Free Spins buy?+
No. The demo's buy menu, its rules and the game server list a single purchase: free spins for 100x the bet, with four scatters guaranteed on the bought spin. The rules give that buy a 96.49% RTP. Turning on the double chance bet switches the buy off. Our one bought round paid $127.05 on a $1 bet.
What is the max win on Gates of Olympus 1000?+
15,000x the bet, $15,000 at $1, according to the intro screen and the banner above the reels; the review sites give the same figure, though the rules pages do not repeat it. Orbs of up to 1,000x add up within a sequence, and the free spins total multiplies further. Our largest result was the bought round's $127.05.
How does the total multiplier work in Gates of Olympus 1000 free spins?+
Every orb that lands on a winning free spin adds its value to a total that stays for the rest of the round. From then on, a win that comes with a new orb is also multiplied by that total; a win without one is paid plainly. In our bought round the total read 6x, then 12x, and finished at 19x.
