Coin Quest runs on a coin chain: five or more touching coins pay their total and come back as one coin worth it, plain wins leave a Wild, and a Sun God meter adds Coins and Wilds every 25 explosions. The three bonus rounds share those ideas out, and only the 480x Super Free Spins keeps its coins and climbs a multiplier at once. The base game is lean, and its meter resets after every spin.

Who it suits

Play this if…

  • You like wins that feed the next one: coin clusters merge into one bigger coin, and plain wins leave a Wild
  • You want a cheap way into a bonus: Coin Quest Bonus costs 40x and keeps its coins all round
  • You want a multiplier with a long climb: Free Spins add 1x per full meter, up to 20x

Skip this if…

  • You want the base game to pay its way: five skulls only return the bet, and the meter resets every spin
  • You want kept coins and a multiplier together for less: only the 480x Super Free Spins has both
  • You want an ante or Xtra-Bet to raise the bonus chance: Coin Quest offers neither

Coin Quest: Full Review

Coin Quest is a Slotmill slot from April 2022: a jungle temple, a 5x5 grid of carved masks and avalanche cluster pays. Five or more touching coins pay their total and merge into one coin, and a Sun God meter that fills as symbols explode drives three bonus rounds. Slotmill rates it High, with a 96.12% top RTP and a 10,000x cap. Our Coin Quest demo test covered 100 spins at $1 and all three Fast Track buys.

What is the Coin Quest slot about?

The reels stand in a ruined stone gateway in the jungle, with the gold logo to the left and a gold Sun God totem to the right, its collect meter reading 0/25. The bonus rounds move to a darker, torch-lit temple, and each opens and closes on a stone parchment.

Seven symbols pay: four carved masks in purple, red, green and blue, led by a grinning purple skull, and three stone tiles with a coloured glyph. At a $1 bet, five skulls pay $1 and twelve or more $40, while five of a low tile pay $0.25 or $0.30 and twelve or more $6 to $10.

Wins need 5 or more matching symbols joined horizontally or vertically. The Avalanche clears them and drops in new symbols until no win is left, and each winning cluster of ordinary symbols leaves a gold W Wild in a gap before the refill. The Wild covers everything except the Bonus scatter and can join several neighbouring clusters at once.

Coin Quest base game at a $1 bet: a 5x5 grid of carved masks, coins from 2x to 100x, two Bonus symbols and gold W Wilds in a jungle templeBefore our first spin at $1, from the $4,000 demo balance: the Sun God totem and its 0/25 meter stand right of the grid. FluxPlays demo test, 16 October 2026.

Coin Quest bonus features

Coin Clusters

Coins worth 1x to 500x the bet land throughout the game. When five or more touch, the cluster pays the sum of its values, explodes and leaves one new coin worth that sum in an empty space, ready to join a later cluster. Coin wins never add a Wild, and a Wild that completes a coin cluster counts as 0x.

Collect Meter and the Sun God

Each exploded symbol moves the meter one step, and at 25 the Sun God drops Coins and Wilds onto the grid at random. In the base game the count resets after every round, so a fill has to come within one cascade; in the bonus rounds it runs to the end. Our 100 base spins never filled it.

Coin Quest Bonus

Two Coin Quest symbols, on reels 1 and 5, award 5 free spins. The meter keeps its count, and coins that do not win sink to the bottom of the grid for a later cluster. A +1 Spin symbol adds one, and Bonus symbols on reels 2, 3 and 4 upgrade it to Super Free Spins with 4 extra. Its rules and award screen mention no multiplier.

Free Spins

Bonus symbols on reels 2, 3 and 4 award 8 free spins with a win multiplier on the meter. Each fill drops Coins and Wilds and adds 1x to the multiplier, up to 20x, and neither resets in the round. Unlike the other two rounds, its award screen promises no persistent coins. A +1 Spin adds a spin, and the Coin Quest pair upgrades the round, again with 4 extra.

Coin Quest award parchment for our $100 Free Spins buy: 8 Free Spins, progressive multiplier activated, collect meter progress persistentThe start of our $100 Free Spins buy: 8 spins, a climbing multiplier and a meter that keeps its count. FluxPlays demo test, 16 October 2026.

Super Free Spins

Two Coin Quest symbols and three Bonus symbols together award 8 Super Free Spins, which run both rule sets at once: coins pile up along the bottom row while the multiplier climbs. It is the one round where a stack of big coins can meet a raised multiplier, and a capture from ours shows coin wins multiplied, a 42x cluster paid at x2.

Fast Track and Burst Mode

Fast Track, Slotmill's name for bonus buys, sits top left and sells each round from the base game: Coin Quest Bonus at 40x the bet with a 96.21% RTP, Free Spins at 100x and 96.36%, and Super Free Spins at 480x and 96.58%. Each guarantees its round, and a confirmation box shows the price and RTP first.

A chosen option stays on and charges its price every spin until you click the X on its badge; after each of our rounds the spin button still read 40, 100 or 480. There is no ante or Xtra-Bet, and Burst Mode, a faster autoplay that shows only round totals, went unused. Bets run from $0.20 to $40.

Played on Slotmill's official demo in US dollars, from its $4,000 demo balance (100 times the $40 top bet), with every round checked against the game server's log. No bonus triggered in the 100 base spins, so all three rounds were bought through Fast Track. Spins 56 and 99 paid $15.70 between them and the other 98 returned $27.20; 19 of the 31 wins were under $1. The three buys returned $216.20 for $620.00, and none paid back its price. The game has no ante, Xtra-Bet or paid spin mode, and Burst Mode and Quick Spin were not used. The BIG WIN count-ups inside the bought rounds were not captured at their final frames, so the rounds rest on their result screens and settled balances. Totals from the spin log: $720.00 staked, $259.10 returned, in one session from $4,000.00 to $3,539.10. A session this size cannot measure the RTP or the volatility.

Slotmill's official demo ran in US dollars from a $4,000.00 balance, 100 times the top bet, and we checked every round against the game server's log. The 100 base spins returned $42.90 from 31 wins. Sixty-nine paid nothing, the longest dry run lasted 8 spins, from 26 to 33, and no bonus came.

Most wins were small: 19 of the 31 paid under $1, $10.00 between them. On spin 56 the game server's log records a seven-step cascade that ended with coins of 1x and 2x and two Wilds on the board, for $8.05, and spin 99 paid $7.65 the same way. The other 98 spins returned $27.20.

Coin Quest base spin 56 at a $1 bet, settled: coins of 1x and 2x and two gold W Wilds among green masks, WIN 8.05, balance 3,965.60Base spin 56 of 100 at $1, settled: $8.05, our best base spin. FluxPlays demo test, 16 October 2026.

We then bought each round once. The $40 Coin Quest Bonus gave 5 spins, and a +1 Spin made it 6. Coins gathered along the bottom of the grid, one coin cluster showed 22.00, and a 22x coin was still on the board when the round closed at $36.50.

Coin Quest base screen after our $40 Coin Quest Bonus buy: a 22x coin on the bottom row, WIN 36.50 and the spin button still at 40 USDBack on the base screen after our $40 Coin Quest Bonus: $36.50 won, a 22x coin on the board and Fast Track still armed. FluxPlays demo test, 16 October 2026.

The $100 Free Spins began with 8 spins, and +1 Spin symbols added two more. The meter filled twice, taking the multiplier from x1 to x3. Seven spins in, the round had paid $7.40; the eighth lifted it to $55.40 and left a 16x coin behind, and the last two brought it to $59.00.

The $480 Super Free Spins played its 8 spins with no extra one. Coins piled up along the bottom row, yet the round stood at only $34.95 before its last spin, when a coin cluster worth 42x was paid at x2. It closed at $120.70, the largest result of the session and a single one.

Coin Quest after our $480 Super Free Spins buy, settled: a 42x coin on the bottom row, WIN 120.70, balance 3,539.10 at a $1 betOur $480 Super Free Spins buy at $1, settled: $120.70, with a 42x coin left on the bottom row. FluxPlays demo test, 16 October 2026.

The test in four lines:

  • Base game, 100 spins at $1: $100.00 in, $42.90 back
  • Coin Quest Bonus buy at 40x: $40.00 in, $36.50 back
  • Free Spins buy at 100x: $100.00 in, $59.00 back
  • Super Free Spins buy at 480x: $480.00 in, $120.70 back

By the server log we staked $720.00 and got $259.10 back, ending on $3,539.10, and the three buys returned $216.20 for $620. The intro and rules showed 96.12%. We never saw a bonus land on its own, an upgrade or a multiplier above x3, and one short session cannot measure the RTP or the volatility.

Is Coin Quest worth trying?

The coin chain is the reason to play. A coin cluster pays and comes back as one coin worth the whole cluster, plain wins leave a Wild for the next cascade, and every full meter brings more of both, so one good spin tends to set up another.

The three rounds split those ideas. Coin Quest Bonus keeps its coins all round for 40x, Free Spins carries the climbing multiplier for 100x, and only Super Free Spins has both, at 480x for the same 8 spins. The Fast Track RTPs rise with the price, from 96.21% to 96.58%, all above the base game's 96.12%.

The base game is the thin part. Five skulls only return the bet, the meter restarts every spin, and nothing lifts the bonus chance. Slotmill rates the volatility High on its game page; the game shows no label. Casinos can also run a 94.36% version, which our demo did not show, so check the game info before playing for money.

Cosmic Clusters!, a 6x6 cluster slot we have tested, runs the same coin chain: by its rules and our test, five or more coins pay their total and return as one coin, and its free spins drop idle coins to the bottom row. It caps wins at 5,000x to this game's 10,000x, and Coin Quest adds the meter and a multiplier that only climbs.

Coin Quest 2 followed in December 2022 with a 6x6 grid, a 15,000x cap and power-up symbols, and Slotmill's page for it lists the same Coin Cluster feature.

Frequently Asked Questions

Can I play the Coin Quest demo for free?+

Yes, with play money and no sign-up: this page runs Slotmill's own Coin Quest demo. Ours opened at $4,000.00, 100 times the $40 top bet, with the $1 bet already set. All three Fast Track buys work, and each stays armed after its round, its price still on the spin button, until you click the X on its badge.

Is this the Coin Quest slot or the CoinQuest app?+

This page covers Slotmill's Coin Quest, a 5x5 cluster-pays slot from April 2022. It has nothing to do with the CoinQuest earning app or the Coin Quest board game that share its name in search results, and Coin Quest 2, from December 2022, is a separate Slotmill slot with its own rules.

How do Coin Clusters work in Coin Quest?+

Coins worth 1x to 500x the bet land among the masks. When five or more touch, they pay their combined value, explode and leave one new coin holding the total, which can grow again in a later cluster. A Wild can complete a coin cluster but counts as 0x there, and coin wins never add a Wild.

How does the free spins multiplier work in Coin Quest?+

In Free Spins and Super Free Spins the meter carries a win multiplier that never resets in the round. The rules raise it by 1x each time the meter fills, up to 20x, rather than by up to 20x in one go, as some reviews read it. Our $100 Free Spins round started at x1, filled the meter twice and reached x3.

What changed in Coin Quest 2?+

The December 2022 sequel moves to a 6x6 grid, by Slotmill's page and product sheet, and its demo server confirms a 15,000x cap against 10,000x here. It drops the standalone Coin Quest Bonus, keeps Free Spins and Super Free Spins, and adds power-up symbols, and its Fast Track grows to five options, among them a 140x Gamble for a chance at the Super round.
