Dead Man's Drop

Dead Man's Drop is a Slotmill slot from 19 August 2025: a 6x6 avalanche cluster grid in a green-lit pirate cave. Its engine is the Multiplier Wild, which doubles every time it joins a win and merges with its neighbours, up to x1000. Slotmill rates it Very High, with a 96.07% RTP and a 20,000x cap. Our Dead Man's Drop demo test covered 100 spins at $1, both bonus buys and all three feature modes.

What is the Dead Man's Drop slot about?

The grid stands at the end of a wooden jetty in a cave washed in green light, with lanterns on posts and a wrecked ship to the right. Bought free spins move out under a purple night sky, and each result appears over an open treasure chest.

Wins come from clusters of 5 or more matching symbols touching horizontally or vertically. Winners explode, new symbols fall into the gaps, and the avalanche runs while fresh wins form.

Nine symbols pay. The green-eyed pirate captain tops the table at 75 cents for five and $25 for fourteen or more at a $1 bet, ahead of a cutlass, a spyglass, an anchor and a hook. Four gems fill the bottom at 10 or 15 cents for five.

The Wild is a gold W in a bronze ring. It stands in for everything except the ship's-wheel Bonus symbols and the Power-ups.

Multiplier Wilds

A winning cluster with no Wild in it creates a new Multiplier Wild in a gap before the refill. Each time a Multiplier Wild joins a win it doubles, starting from x2, up to x1000, and the cluster pays its win times the combined value of its Wilds.

When winning clusters connect, their Wilds below x1000 merge into one and add their values, which is how a value such as x26 appears. After each win the Wilds involved step to a free neighbouring space.

Wild Spawn

At random, 2 or 3 Wilds can spawn at the start of a spin, and one may arrive as a Multiplier Wild with a random value. Super Free Spins open with one, and two Fast Track options sell it.

Power-ups

Four skulls in coloured bandanas are Power-ups. Red Transform turns every copy of one symbol, and itself, into another, and pink Instant Wild becomes a Multiplier Wild worth x2 to x32. Once wins run out, blue Bomb clears up to 9 neighbouring symbols, sparing special ones, and turns into a Wild, while green Symbol Removal clears every copy of one symbol.

Free Spins and Super Free Spins

Three Bonus wheels award 8 free spins, and every Multiplier Wild becomes sticky for the rest of the round, so values can keep doubling from one spin to the next. A green +1 Spin bottle adds a spin.

Fast Track and Xtra-Bet

Five options sit behind the Fast Track button at top left, each charged on every spin until switched off. Two of them are bonus buys: the Bonus at 100x the bet (96.34% RTP) and the Super Free Spins Bonus at 400x (96.47%).

The other three sell features rather than a round: Wild Spawn at 40x (96.17%) and Super Wild Spawn at 80x (96.20%), whose box promises a multiplier of at least x32. Super Bonus Hunt at 8x (96.16%) turns any bonus it triggers into Super Free Spins; its box quotes 1 in 55 spins and an Extreme volatility, where the others say Very High.

Xtra-Bet, a separate toggle, doubles the stake for 5.6 times the free spins chance at 96.15% and cannot run with Fast Track, so we left it off, along with Burst Mode. Bets run from $0.20 to $100 over 25 levels.

Our Dead Man's Drop demo test

Slotmill's official demo ran in US dollars from $10,000.00, 100 times the $100 top bet, at $1, and the game server's log chains all 132 rounds without a break. The 100 base spins returned $74.40 from 33 wins: 14 under $1, 15 from $1 to $5 and four larger. No bonus landed, and the balance never climbed back to $10,000.

Spin 28 was the best: a cascade merged Multiplier Wilds into a x26 for $12.85. Spin 77 paid $12.80 and spin 37 $10.10. Without spin 28, the other 99 spins returned $61.55 from 32 wins.

We then bought each bonus once. The $400 Super Free Spins Bonus gave 8 spins, and a +1 Spin made it 9. Our captures show $25.20 won and a sticky x96 Wild on reel 1 on the second spin, then $160.85 by the sixth, with a Wild in reel 1's bottom corner at x792.

That Wild still read x792 at the end, so it joined no win in the last three spins, and the round closed at $160.85, 0.40x the price. Our log keeps only the total, so the x792 Wild's own share cannot be split out.

The $100 Bonus gave 8 free spins and finished with sticky Wilds of x154, x6 and x4 on the grid. It paid $115.45, a single result and $15.45 more than its price.

Then came 10 spins of each feature mode, at $80, $40 and $8 a spin, as the rules price them at a $1 bet. Super Wild Spawn started every spin with Multiplier Wilds such as x32 and x64, yet six of the ten paid nothing; the rest made $320.00 for $800, or $176.00 without the best spin's $144.00.

Wild Spawn paid on eight of ten spins, $269.40 for $400; spin 3 made $115.20 and the other nine $154.20. Spin 10 paid $4.00 with Wilds of x32, x32 and x64 on the board.

Super Bonus Hunt cost $80 for its ten spins and returned $0.25 from two small wins. No bonus came, and one Super Bonus wheel showed on the last spin.

The server log totals $1,880.00 staked and $940.35 returned, from $10,000.00 to $9,060.35, and the intro and rules showed 96.07%. We never saw a bonus trigger by itself, a Power-up we could pick out or a Super Bonus Hunt upgrade, and none of these samples can measure the RTP or the volatility.

Is Dead Man's Drop worth trying?

The Multiplier Wild is a strong engine. Wins without a Wild create one, every win it joins doubles it, and connected ones merge, so one cascade can build a x26 from small pieces, as our spin 28 did. In free spins they stay, and one that keeps joining wins can reach x1000.

The catch is that a big Wild only counts when a winning cluster reaches it. Our $400 round left a x792 Wild in a corner for its last three spins without a win. The base game gives little on its own: five pirate captains pay 75 cents at a $1 bet.

Fast Track is wide, and every option's RTP, 96.16% to 96.47%, sits above the base game's 96.07%. Slotmill's page rates the game Very High, as the Fast Track boxes do, so the High seen elsewhere does not match. The page also lists a 94.09% version that casinos can choose.

Coin Quest 2 is the closest relative we have tested. By both games' rules it shares the 6x6 avalanche grid with clusters of 5 or more, a Wild created after a win, Power-ups including a Transform, and 8 free spins or 8 Super Free Spins from the same Bonus and Super Bonus mix. It builds value from coins and a meter and caps wins at 15,000x.

Ragnarok also doubles on every avalanche win, but one shared multiplier on a rune stone does the doubling there, while here each Wild keeps its own value and doubles only for the wins it joins.
