Our verdict
Emberfall 40k keeps the original's doubling pillar, giant symbols and 8-spin rounds and lifts the roof above them: a 40,000x cap, a x262144 multiplier limit and Super Mode, which drops large giants on every Super free spin. The base game stays plain and has no Wild, and Fast Track now starts at 40x, but two buys and the 375x Gamble lead to the Super round.
Who it suits
Play this if…
- You want the series' highest ceiling: 40,000x the bet and a x262144 multiplier cap
- You like rounds that build: every avalanche win doubles the pillar, and free spins never reset it
- You want Super Mode on demand: the 1,000x option guarantees large giants on every spin
Skip this if…
- You want Wilds or steady small wins: there are none here, and eight warriors pay 0.4x the bet
- You want a cheap way into the features: the lowest Fast Track price is 40x the bet
- You dislike losing a buy outright: the rules give the Gamble a 50% chance of paying nothing

Emberfall 40k: Full Review
Emberfall 40k is Slotmill's 21 October 2025 sequel to Emberfall: the same Wild-free 6x6 avalanche grid below a volcano, where a stone pillar's multiplier doubles with every avalanche win. Wins can now reach 40,000x the bet, and a new Super Mode packs the Super Free Spins with giants. Slotmill rates it Very High, at 96.09% RTP. Our Emberfall 40k demo test covered 100 spins at $1 and all of Fast Track.

What is the Emberfall 40k slot about?
Little has changed on screen: lava runs down the volcano under a full moon, the grid is cracked stone, and the pillar on the left shows the live multiplier with the next two steps above it. As our captures of both games show, the two even open on an identical board. A gold 40K under the logo marks the sequel.
A win takes 8 or more of one symbol anywhere on the grid, and each winning combination pays only its highest win. Winners explode, fresh symbols fall into the gaps, and the avalanche runs while new wins form.
Nine symbols pay, on the same table as Emberfall by both games' rules. At a $1 bet the black-bearded warrior is worth 40 cents for eight and $10 for sixteen or more, ahead of a sword, an axe, a shield and a horned helmet; four gems fill the low end at 10 or 15 cents for eight. The two dragon-eye Bonus symbols pay nothing.
The opening board at a $1 bet with $5,000.00 to play: a 2x2 giant shield, a Bonus eye and the pillar at x1. FluxPlays demo test, 18 October 2026.
Emberfall 40k bonus features
Progressive Win Multiplier
The pillar is the heart of the game. The rules have each avalanche win double it, x1 to x2, x4 and on, not add one step per cascade. A new base round resets it to x1, and the cap is now x262144, two doublings beyond Emberfall's x65536 by both games' rules.
Multiplier Boost and Giant Symbols
Any round can open with a Multiplier Boost that lifts the pillar a random number of steps. By the game server's log it struck twice in our base game, on spins 33 and 54, a single step to x2 each time, and neither spin paid.
Giant symbols of 2x2, 3x3 or 4x4 can appear as a round starts or once its wins run out. They count as 4, 9 or 16 of their symbol, so a 3x3 or a 4x4 is a win on its own.
Free Spins and Super Free Spins
Three Bonus eyes award 8 free spins. The pillar starts at x1 and keeps every doubling until the last spin, and Bonus symbols stop landing, so the round cannot extend itself.
Two Bonus eyes with a Super Bonus award 8 Super Free Spins instead: the same rules, plus a giant symbol on every spin.
Super Mode
Super Mode is the sequel's new piece. By the rules it can switch on at random as the Super Free Spins begin, and then every spin gets a 3x3, a 4x4 or several 2x2 giants. The Gamble can award it and Fast Track sells it, so it is both a random upgrade and a round of its own.
Fast Track and Xtra-Bet
Fast Track works only from the base game, and the chosen option is charged on every spin until you click its icon off. Three are bonus buys: Free Spins at 100x the bet (96.31% RTP), Super Free Spins at 500x (96.40%) and Super Mode Super Free Spins at 1,000x (96.48%).
The Gamble feature costs 375x (96.47%) and is decided in one spin: 25% Super Free Spins, 25% the same with Super Mode, 50% a spin that pays nothing. Multiplier Boost at 40x (96.31%) guarantees only the boost, so we played it as a paid mode. All five confirmation boxes say Very High.
Fast Track after our 100 base spins: the Gamble, three bonus rounds and the Multiplier Boost, priced in USD at a $1 bet. FluxPlays demo test, 18 October 2026.
Xtra-Bet is a separate toggle: half as much again on the stake for 2.7 times the free spins chance, at 96.09%, and never alongside Fast Track. It stayed off, like Burst Mode. Bets run from $0.20 to $50 across 22 levels.

Played on Slotmill's official demo in US dollars, from its $5,000 demo balance (100 times the $50 top bet), in one live session with all 114 rounds chained in the game server's log; a usage pause of about four hours fell between Multiplier Boost spins 4 and 5, and the balance carried on unbroken. No bonus triggered in the 100 base spins; the random Multiplier Boost started spins 33 and 54 at x2, and neither paid. Spin 98's $12.35 is evidenced by the game's own GAME HISTORY row, since its settled board did not save. Paid mode, charged per spin: Multiplier Boost, 10 spins at $40, $400.00 in, $285.60 back, every spin paid ($136.80 without the $148.80 spin). The Super Free Spins buy ($500) paid $1,368.55, a single result; without it the session staked $1,975.00 and returned $494.50. Xtra-Bet and Burst Mode stayed off, so they were not tested. Totals from the spin log: $2,475.00 staked, $1,863.05 returned, from $5,000.00 to $4,388.05. A sample this size cannot pin down the RTP or the volatility.
We played Slotmill's official demo in US dollars from $5,000.00, a hundred times the $50 top bet, at $1. The game server's log chains all 114 rounds, unbroken by a pause of about four hours during the Multiplier Boost spins.
The base game was thin: $43.70 back from 28 wins, 17 of them under $1, a longest losing run of 8 spins and no bonus. Spin 98 was the best at $12.35. Its settled board did not save, so the game's own GAME HISTORY row (BET 1, WIN 12.35) and the server log stand in for it.
Without it the other 99 spins returned $31.35, topped by $4.20 on spin 70. Our Emberfall test drew $130.85 from the same paytable, which says more about small samples than about either game.
Each buy was played once. The $100 Free Spins had the pillar at x16 by the sixth spin; the seventh paid $56.00 at that value and the eighth $6.40 at x32, for $64.50 in all.
The $500 Super Free Spins began without Super Mode and paid in bursts, by the game server's log: $10.15 from five avalanches on spin 1, then $104.00 and $128.00 on spins 3 and 4 as the pillar passed x256, and finally $204.80 at x512 and $921.60 at x1024 on the last two spins.
That came to $1,368.55, 2.7 times the price, but it is one result: without it, the session staked $1,975.00 and returned $494.50.
Our $500 Super Free Spins buy at $1 ended here: You won $1,368.55, the largest result of the session. FluxPlays demo test, 18 October 2026.
The $375 Gamble filled the grid with blockers, landed one Bonus and one Super Bonus with no third symbol, and paid nothing.
Our $375 Gamble at $1, settled: blockers fill the grid around one Bonus and one Super Bonus, and nothing is awarded. FluxPlays demo test, 18 October 2026.
The $1,000 Super Mode round dropped big giants on every spin and took the pillar to x64, yet the wins stayed small. The largest was $64.00 at x32 on spin 6, and the round closed at $100.70, about a tenth of its price.
Super Mode spin 3 of 8 from our $1,000 buy: a 2x2 giant sword and a 2x2 giant shield inside the red flame border, with the pillar at x2. FluxPlays demo test, 18 October 2026.
Ten Multiplier Boost spins at $40 all paid, starting at x4 once, x8 three times, x16 four times and x32 twice, yet none returned 10 times its stake. Spin 4 led with $148.80 from x16; the ten returned $285.60 for $400, or $136.80 without it.
Multiplier Boost spin 4, $40 at a $1 bet, settled: $148.80, the best of our ten boosted spins. FluxPlays demo test, 18 October 2026.
Where each part of the session finished:
- Base game, 100 spins at $1: $100.00 in, $43.70 back
- Free Spins buy at 100x: $100.00 in, $64.50 back
- Super Free Spins buy at 500x: $500.00 in, $1,368.55 back
- Gamble at 375x: $375.00 in, $0.00 back
- Super Mode Super Free Spins buy at 1,000x: $1,000.00 in, $100.70 back
- Multiplier Boost, 10 spins at $40: $400.00 in, $285.60 back
In all, the log shows $2,475.00 staked and $1,863.05 returned, from $5,000.00 down to $4,388.05, with 96.09% on the intro and rules. We never saw a natural bonus, a random Super Mode or a Gamble win, and 114 rounds are far too few to measure the RTP or the volatility.
Is Emberfall 40k worth trying?
The case for it is the ceiling. The doubling pillar works as before, but a round can now reach 40,000x, and since free spins keep every step, the last spins of a round carry most of the weight. In our $500 round, the eighth spin at x1024 outpaid the seven before it combined.
Super Mode buys bigger giants, not a higher multiplier: the pillar still starts at x1 and needs avalanche wins to climb. At 1,000x it costs twice the plain Super round; in our test the cheaper round paid more, one result and not a rule.
The rest is plain. There is no Wild, eight warriors return 40 cents on a $1 bet, and Fast Track now starts at 40x, though every option pays back 96.31% to 96.48%, above the base game's 96.09%. Slotmill's Game Data and every confirmation box say Very High; the High printed in some data boxes elsewhere does not match.
Next to Emberfall, by both games' rules, the 40k keeps the grid, the paytable, giants up to 4x4, both 8-spin rounds and Xtra-Bet's 2.7 times boost. The ceiling rises from 15,000x to 40,000x and the multiplier cap from x65536 to x262144, while the top bet falls from $60 to $50 and the RTP from 96.10% to 96.09%.
On Fast Track, the 1,000x Super Mode buy replaces the 5x Super Bonus Hunt, and the Gamble goes from 250x for a straight 50% shot at the Super round to 375x with a Super Mode outcome added.
Ragnarok doubles its multiplier the same way by its own rules, with Loki's Trick as the boost, but on a 5x5 cluster grid with Wilds and a 10,000x cap.
Frequently Asked Questions
Can I play the Emberfall 40k demo for free?+
Yes, with play money and no account: this page runs Slotmill's own demo. Ours opened at $5,000.00, 100x the $50 top bet, with $1 selected, and all five Fast Track options worked, the 1,000x Super Mode buy included. None of our 100 base spins brought a bonus.
How is Emberfall 40k different from Emberfall?+
The 40k is the max win: 40,000x the bet, against Emberfall's 15,000x, with the multiplier cap raised from x65536 to x262144. Super Mode is new, and Fast Track swaps the 5x Super Bonus Hunt for a 1,000x Super Mode buy. By both games' rules, the grid, the paytable and the 8-spin rounds otherwise work as before.
What is Super Mode in Emberfall 40k?+
A version of the Super Free Spins in which every spin gets a 3x3, a 4x4 or several 2x2 giant symbols. The rules can switch it on at random when the Super Free Spins start, the Gamble awards it 25% of the time, and Fast Track sells it for 1,000x the bet at 96.48% RTP.
What is the RTP of Emberfall 40k?+
96.09% in the demo we played, on its intro and in its rules. Slotmill's page also lists a 94.26% version that casinos can choose, and a 96.06% figure that circulates does not match the game. Every Fast Track option pays back more, 96.31% to 96.48%.
How does the Gamble work in Emberfall 40k?+
It costs 375x the bet, at 96.47% RTP, and settles in one spin: a 25% chance of 8 Super Free Spins, 25% of the same round with Super Mode and 50% of nothing; the Super Free Spins bought outright cost 500x. Ours landed one Bonus and one Super Bonus among the blockers and paid nothing.
