Freya 1000 pairs money shields that pay wherever they land with a wheel symbol that can award cash, a multiplier of up to 1,000x or one of three free spins rounds, and it sells all three rounds at the base game's 96.50% RTP. The shields keep the base game moving, but line wins are small, the wheel is the only way into free spins, and the super round's total multiplier only counts on spins that land a wheel.

Who it suits

  • You like money symbols that pay on any spin, with reels that can nudge to fill with them
  • You want a choice of three buys, from 50x to 200x, all at the base game's 96.50% RTP

  • You want line wins that matter: five card letters pay 1.25x and five longships only 25x

  • You want natural free spins often: they come from the wheel alone, once in 301.93 spins on average

What is the Freya 1000 slot about?

Freya stands to the right of the reels in white armour and a winged circlet, a glowing sword at her side, with a frozen Viking harbour behind her and green northern lights overhead. The reels sit in a carved Celtic wooden frame, and a BUY FEATURE panel with three options hangs on the left. In free spins the reels frost over and snow gathers on the frame.

Wins pay left to right on 10 fixed lines, from three of a kind. At a $1 bet five longships pay $25, five wolves or polar bears $5, and five necklaces or drinking horns $4. The card letters, 10 to A, pay $1.25 for five and just $0.05 for three. One review site lists beers among the premiums, but the paytable shows a polar bear.

Freya is the wild. She lands on reels 2 to 5 only and stands in for everything except the money and wheel symbols. Pragmatic Play's figures give a hit rate of 34.13%, one spin in 2.93, and free spins once every 301.93 spins on average. In our test 39 of the 100 base spins paid.

Freya 1000 bonus features

Money shields

The money symbols are green, purple and red shields, each worth a random 0.25x, 0.5x, 0.75x, 1x, 2.5x, 3x, 3.75x, 4.5x, 5x, 7.5x, 12x or 40x the total bet and paid as soon as it lands, base game included; nothing has to collect it. A reel that ends a spin with one or two shields may nudge up or down to show more and fill up.

The wheel symbol

There is no scatter. Free spins come from the wheel symbol, a blue and white round shield, which spins a wheel for one prize per symbol on screen. In the base game the prize is cash of 5x, 8x or 20x the bet, a 5x, 8x, 15x, 25x, 100x or 1,000x multiplier on that spin's win, or 6 free spins, 6 super free spins or 12 super free spins.

Freya 1000 rules page: green, purple and red money shields worth 0.25x to 40x, and the wheel symbol's cash, multiplier and free spins prizesThe rules: shield values from 0.25x to 40x, and every prize the base-game wheel can award. FluxPlays demo test, 16 October 2026.

Free spins

The round starts with 6 free spins on special reels. Any reel a shield lands on nudges until it is full of shields, and each wheel symbol now spins for a multiplier: 2x, 3x, 4x, 5x, 6x, 8x, 10x, 12x, 15x, 20x, 25x, 50x, 100x, 250x, 500x or 1,000x. Wheels on the same spin add their multipliers together, and they apply to that spin's win only.

A shield can also turn into +3 SPINS after paying its value, adding three free spins. A round that reaches 10,000x the bet ends at once, and any spins left are forfeited.

Super free spins

Super free spins start with 6 or 12 spins and keep the same nudges and +3 SPINS shields. The difference is the multiplier: every wheel adds its value to a total that lasts until the round ends. That total applies only to spins on which at least one wheel lands, shield values included, so it pays out again only when another wheel arrives.

Buy Feature

The Buy Feature has three prices: 50x the bet for 6 free spins, 75x for 6 super free spins and 200x for 12 super free spins. The rules list 96.50% RTP for each bonus buy, the same as the base game. Every buy plays a wheel spin first, and in our test it stopped on the round we had paid for each time. There is no ante bet.

Played on the official demo with play money, one base spin at a time. No wheel symbol landed in the 100 base spins, so free spins never triggered naturally and all three rounds were bought; there is no ante bet. Spin 23's $15.75 was a single result: the other 99 base spins returned $109.20. The log does not show which spins the 4x total multiplier applied to in the $200 round, so only its total is given. Totals from the spin log: $425.00 staked, $190.80 returned. 100 spins and three buys cannot measure the RTP or the volatility.

Our 100 base spins at $1 returned $124.95 from 39 wins, and the longest run without one was 8 spins. The shields did most of the work: they landed on 27 spins, and the four biggest wins, $15.75, $12.75, $10.00 and $8.00, all came from them. Line wins stayed small; spin 15's $5.00 was two lines of three longships.

Spin 23 was the best: two red $7.50 shields on reel 4 and green $0.50 and $0.25 shields on reel 5, for $15.75, or 15.75x the bet. That was a single result. The other 99 spins returned $109.20, and the base game ended $24.95 up, which is one session's outcome, not a sign of what the game returns.

Freya 1000 spin 23 at a $1 bet, settled: two red $7.50 shields on reel 4 and green $0.50 and $0.25 shields on reel 5, WIN $15.75Spin 23 of 100 at $1: four shields for $15.75, our biggest base win. FluxPlays demo test, 16 October 2026.

No wheel symbol landed in the 100 base spins, so we never saw the base-game wheel, its cash and multiplier prizes, or free spins arriving on their own. We bought all three rounds instead. None of them paid back its price, and none reached 100x.

The $50 buy did best. Its wheel stopped on 6 free spins, and wheels then landed on three of those spins: 3x on a $5.50 win, 20x on a $1.00 win and 2x on another $1.00. The 20x alone lifted the running total from $18.25 to $37.25, and the round paid $43.00, including $0.75 from the buy spin.

Freya 1000 wheel on our $50 buy spin stopping on 6 FREE SPINS, with 5x, 1000x, $20.00, 12 super free spins, $5.00 and 15x segmentsEach buy starts with a wheel spin; our $50 one stopped on 6 free spins. FluxPlays demo test, 16 October 2026. Freya 1000 result screen after our $50 buy: Congratulations, you won $43.00 in 6 free spins, on a carved wooden sign with snowThe $50 round's result: $43.00 in 6 free spins. FluxPlays demo test, 16 October 2026.

The $75 super round never landed a wheel, so its total multiplier never started. Two shield nudges paid $1.50 and $1.25, and with the buy spin's $0.75 it returned $3.50.

In the $200 round a shield turned into +3 SPINS on free spin 4, for 15 in all, and one wheel landed, on free spin 5, setting the total multiplier to 4x. Most spins paid nothing or under $1, and the round returned $19.35, as its result screen shows. Our log does not show which spins the 4x multiplied, so we give only the total.

Results by part of the test, with the base game first:

  • Base game, 100 spins at $1: $100.00 in, $124.95 back
  • 6 Free Spins buy at 50x: $50.00 in, $43.00 back
  • 6 Super Free Spins buy at 75x: $75.00 in, $3.50 back
  • 12 Super Free Spins buy at 200x: $200.00 in, $19.35 back

In all we staked $425.00 and got $190.80 back. Besides the base-game wheel, we never saw a multiplier above 20x, a +3 SPINS in regular free spins or a total multiplier above 4x. One session of 100 spins and three buys tells you nothing reliable about a 96.50% RTP or a volatility label.

Is Freya 1000 worth trying?

The shields make the base game livelier than its line pays suggest. They pay wherever they land, and a nudge can turn one or two into a full column. The wheel symbol gives any spin a shot at cash, a multiplier of up to 1,000x or a bonus, and the three buys let you pick how much of the multiplier system you pay for, all at 96.50% RTP.

The weak points are structural. Line wins are small, with five card letters paying 1.25x and five longships 25x. Every round starts with 6 or 12 spins, and in the super version the total multiplier counts only on spins with a wheel, so it can sit idle. Free spins come only through the wheel, once in 301.93 spins on average by Pragmatic Play's figures.

The rules page and the intro screen both label it high volatility, as Pragmatic Play does, and so do the review sites we checked, apart from one data box that says medium. We go with the game's own label.

Big Bass Vegas 1000 shares the 1000 tag and the 5x3, 10-line layout, but its money fish pay only when a fisherman wild collects them in free spins, while Freya's shields pay on any spin. For another high-volatility 5x3, 10-line game with money symbols and several buys, Sleeping Dragon Ultra Dark holds its coins for a respin round with fixed jackpots.

Frequently Asked Questions

Can I play the Freya 1000 demo for free?+

Yes. This page runs Pragmatic Play's official Freya 1000 demo with play money, with no account needed. It opens at a $2.00 bet, and five presses of the minus button in the settings brought ours down to $1.00. All three buys work in the demo, and after one a REBUY button for that option appears under BUY FEATURE.

Is Freya 1000 a remake of Might of Freya Megaways?+

No. Freya 1000 is an original game, released on 21 September 2026, not a 1000 version of an older slot. Might of Freya Megaways is a different game that also features the goddess, and none of its features or figures apply here. This page covers Freya 1000 only: 5x3 reels, 10 lines, money shields and a wheel.

How do the money shields work in Freya 1000?+

Green, purple and red shields carry a random value from 0.25x to 40x the bet and pay as soon as they land, in the base game too. A reel showing one or two may nudge to fill with them, and in free spins any reel with a shield always fills. One review site gives 0.2x as the lowest value, but the rules say 0.25x. Shields landed on 27 of our 100 base spins.

What is the difference between free spins and super free spins in Freya 1000?+

In free spins, a wheel multiplier applies only to the spin it lands on. In super free spins, each wheel adds to a total multiplier that lasts the whole round and multiplies every spin on which a wheel lands. The buys cost 50x for 6 free spins, 75x for 6 super free spins and 200x for 12, all at 96.50% RTP.

How do you trigger free spins in Freya 1000?+

Only through the wheel symbol or the Buy Feature, as there is no scatter. Each wheel symbol spins a wheel, and three of its base-game prizes are 6 free spins, 6 super free spins and 12 super free spins. Pragmatic Play puts the average at one round in 301.93 spins; in our 100 base spins no wheel symbol landed at all.
